I have been at Danny's twice now since I've been in Binghamton for 2 years. It's the second diner I've been to in Broome county. My fiance and I went there for a little date together and the waitress was exactly that she brought the food and left and brought the check. There was no sincere feeling from her. Didn't ask if we needed anything during the time we were there. Didn't ask us if we wanted mode. Coffee or anything else possible on the menu. Brought the check and didn't even say thank you. The waitress didn't state her name and wasn't friendly. I got the feeling from her as she just wanted us to leave immediately brought the check 2 minutes after bringing our food. Didn't welcome/greet us or say thank you for coming and have a nice day which is what comes with being in a diner restaurant. I was a waitress at one point before having children. Customers like when the waitress or waitors make sure customers have anything and everything they may want. They didn't provide napkins for hand/face use. The food was not horrible but I've most definitely had better. I was pretty upset that it was exactly the same the second time I visited there. The gossip talked trashing people in the Broome County area is just sad. I liked to be welcomed in a place that is suppose to be very welcoming for customer satisfaction. I am paying for it and then to leave a tips for a waitress that didn't even make sure everything was taken care of. She didn't ask how our food was she took our order walked away brought our food walked away brought our check. Walked away. That was the most disrespectful customer services...
Read moreI used to come here as a kid because my dad actually worked there as a dishwasher way back in the '70s, Danny's diner has been a staple in Binghamton for a long time.
so I hadn't been there in probably a good 30 or 40 years but when I went there just recently after I was getting my tires done in my car across the street it still felt very nostalgic.
of course It no longer has the jukeboxes the small jukeboxes at every table so it has been changed in that sense but otherwise it's still pretty much looks the same as it did from way back when, even Danny the owner was still alive and making his rounds
The waitress was extremely friendly and loved to enjoy a chat with the customers She knew all her regulars by their first names She didn't hesitate to get to me whenever I needed anything.
And I had the blueberry pancakes with bacon and eggs and I have to say it was absolutely delicious so fluffy and sweet and the eggs were done exactly the way I asked.
So if you want a bit of nostalgia from old fashioned style diners Danny's is definitely...
Read moreLoved the look, the food, however, was terrible. My son had a "juicy pork sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy"... The pork was hard, even though it was covered in gravy. I had open ribeye and fries. It had more fat than meat and was rubber! I finally got a piece cut and it literally flew across the table, it was laying on 2pcs of almost burnt toast that had to be microwaved because it was also difficult to cut. We both had the cole slaw .. you don't have to chew it, with the exception of the pineapple bits, because it's completely ground. And yes, I did say pineapple! The waitress is VERY nice but wears her mask under her chin and her dirty fingernails definitely do not make the food any more appealing. $25, with tip, was NOT worth the experience... But you could tell the regulars...
