Best food I've had in Binghamton in 4 years. It was so good that my son complained that he just found this place his last semester in school.
The portions were huge. We ordered 4 dishes and 2 appetizers. Ate only half of what we ordered and took the rest home. The falafels were just right, had the initial crunch and a soft, almost Cake like texture, wasn't gritty or oily at all. The mixed grill was tender and flavorful. The only complaint I have is their food could use a little more spice and that they didn't warn me about how large the portions were.
I was skeptical at first because they only had 5 star reviews and the reviews only went back 3 months but they have only been in business for 3 months. The place looked like a fast food Chinese takeout place and wasn't expecting much but they really got it right. I was skeptical because for whatever reasons, the reviews on restaurants in the Binghamton area seem too high from my experiences, for God's sake, I don't know how buffet star gets such high reviews along with subway and other fast food places.
So far, out of all the restaurants I've tried in the Binghamton area over the fours years my son was in school, there are only 2 places that lived up to their ratings, this place and the Indian buffet near the entrance of...
Read moreI cane here to try the kebab, I had lamb and chicken. The chicken didn’t taste like chicken it had a heavier taste to it. The lamb had a very light flavor. Light in that it won’t sit heavily in your stomach. They were also very lightly seasoned, not at all spicy. Perhaps I should’ve asked if they could make it spicy. I felt it was lacking flavor. Mom had the chicken, she usually doesn’t like lamb. She didn’t like their chicken kebab it is a very different taste, yet she liked the lamb. I would recommend the lamb here over the chicken. Ask for spicy if they have it, there wasn’t very much to go with it. I would’ve much preferred halal food, way more seasoning and flavor. For Turkish, I like different things like in restaurants where they do leg of lamb and manti, this wasn’t bad. The people are very friendly, it just wasn’t the food for me, I like my halal spicy chicken or lamb with rice. Still nice to have another business in...
Read moreWe had a chicken and a lamb donar on a special kind of roll. The name escapes me and a plate of Kofta over rice. A mulberry/ currant soda, an apple soda and a mineral water. The sodas alone are worth stopping for, add the food and its phenomenal! Our first time having Turkish food and it was absolutely delicious. We will be back! We come from Georgia to Binghamton every year and this will be a regular stop for us. The gentlemen who operate this fine establishment took the time to explain and answer our questions. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. If you haven't tried Turkish food, you need to and you need to try it here. Excellent, ...
