Ever Green Express Chinese & Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in City of Canandaigua

TOTAL RIPOFF. Was told (points at box) "pick 2 $5" to which I said "2 of what?" He responded by handing me a menu and saying "pick any 2, we put in box, $5." Fantastic! So we ordered 2 boxes at $5 a piece..... BILL CAME TO $36 AND WE HAD TO WAIT 45 MIN. No arguing with him, didn't seem to understand a word I said. Needless to say, we were pretty ticked off. Food was decent, but NOT IN ANY WAY GOOD ENOUGH TO OVERPAY BY $26 and have to wait the better part of an hour to get. Not to mention, the guy taking our order was quite obviously annoyed that we were making him work. Loud sigh and eye-roll followed by a bunch of other non-english words, including "ay-yah," which is tantamount to te F-word in most Mandarin/Cantonese dialects. He then proceeded to the register, where became more annoyed that we didn't know the menu already and needed to see one. Hey it was my first time there.... AND CLEARLY my last.

Overall recommendation: buy any cheap/crappy Chinese food someplace else, burn $25 with a lighter, and stub your toe a few times, you'll get about the same experience (but still feel less...

I so want to give this 5 stars as it is my family's go to for Chinese food. However, the restaurant clearly needs updating. Looking at the dining area being used for storage for vacuum cleaners, and extra sodas, supplies, etc. is unappealing. I've also noticed a lot of dust and cobwebs. Carpet as others stated seriously needs to be replaced. The owners should really invest back in their restaurant. Service is meh. We've been going here for years and they act like they've never seen you before...though you've been ordering the same thing once a week for years. Its so weird that they don't provide any service, yet are able to maintain being in business. Food is ok. It is a quick trip when rushing after a sporting event/son's game. I agree with the reviews that although told 15-20 minutes, it often ends up being much longer. It is still much better than waiting for a pizza or going out to dinner to sit down and wait. **UPDATE I felt bad for leaving a bad review and wanted to give them a chance to make it right when I called down to let them know how their food was their only response was we sell a lot of food and this response was just repeated over and over again to me Absolutely disgusting I highly recommend trying anywhere but this place the sweet-and-sour chicken was completely nasty they took old Buffet sweet and sour chicken and put it back in the deep fryer and when I mean the food was nasty I mean that in the most literal sense we ordered four different menu items and not a single one was remotely good. The sad part is is the rising sun has gone downhill and the great wall that we tried three years ago when we moved to this area was horrible I know my ears are eating Chinese food this is the first bad review I've had to give like I said it wasn't just bad it was horrible I cannot express...
