So close to going 5 stars on this. For start, my girlfriend and I walked in and were surprised with the really cool decor. It was almost a modern meets Edison kind of theme with a specific theme of art around the whole place as well. We got seated upstairs which was great as it had a large curved ceiling above. There was a young host that seated us, and they were very enthusiastic to get us seated.
So already it was a great experience. Then the first order came - Croquetas. And dang were they delicious. First bite through the last were all amazing. Super crisp outside, delectably creamy and flavorful inside. The sauce they were over somehow just wrapped it all together. 10/10
We then we're given our Patatas Bravas. Pretty crispy on the top, drizzled with an aioli and under it all was a marinara/salsa. Very good as well. I'd say a solid 9/10.
We were then given our main order, Bistec Asado. I enjoyed this more than my girlfriend as I love mushrooms, but both of us though the au jus was very good and the meat was cooked exactly to medium rare as requested. The potato was alright, nothing special but still good. The only downside on this one was that the cut of meat we had was rather chewy in some spots. Definitely wasn't how it was cooked, but moreso on the meat section we got. Overall, I'd say this was a 8/10. Im convinced that we just got a bad cut.
We then got our grilled chicken wings - a special of the night. At this point, we were already pretty filled up, but we had a few anyhow. Honestly, they were a bit salty, and the flavor wasn't quite in either of our profiles. They were cooked very well though. Some people would probably like them a lot, but we gave it about a 6/10.
They had a live music band who actually was rather good. They played some blues/jazz a bit while we were there. It would have really sealed the setting, but volume was way too high for the venue. Couldn't even try and hold a conversation once started.
We will be back again 100%. The first two items and the setting won us over within 15 minutes of arriving and it would have taken a lot to make us not like the place at...
Read moreI have been here many times. I used to go frequently and due to how many times the brunette bartender has been rude I will rarely go now, even though I miss the food. I . I understand everyone is short staffed. A few kind words of, I'll be right with you, or an offer of water will go a long way. Or premaking MORE of your specialty mixes .She has rudely told me to go sit down and wait for my waitress to order, well with the short staff you can literally wait for over 20 min with no drinks, on multiple occasions. The bar is also poorly stocked and runs out of specialty items.
I LOVE THE MUSIC. The building is beautiful. The food is good, but more effort to allow people to eat at the same time should be made. The drink menu is good.
I rarely leave bad reviews and really wanted to support this restaurant as the owner is a great person, and I did frequent it even with not being treated right many times at the bar. It is not just a staff issue but a person issue.
Enough is enough. Maybe Ill order food to go as the...
Read more3 stars as the service/staff was fantastic. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Drinks were good. Had the rose sangria. We visited on a Friday evening. Didn't like that the band was inside. I just personally don't like that. The place is small and I am there to have dinner with friends and I can't hear anything with a band loud and echoing off walls. The drink cocktail menu was a little frustrating as the bar tender was stating things like - I only have 1 or 2 of those left - wine and or ingredients to make a cocktail. There is a liquor store nearby. Not sure why a bar has such limited options on a Friday evening. Dinner menu very limited. Dinner comes out as it is ready in the kitchen meaning no one eats at the same time. We personally did not enjoy our food. It wasn't tasty, and the experience...
