If you’re looking for a low budget, friendly, cozy diner, Central Station Restaurant in Dunkirk, NY is absolutely worth checking out and experiencing for yourself. With excellent staff and service, you won’t be surprised they remember you when you come back for seconds. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted as soon as you walk through the door. On the occasion when the diner is running at max capacity, you won’t have to wait long. They will surely make space for you at the drop of a hat. Even though you will have one main waitress/waiter, you will likely be served by multiple people. They share responsibility all throughout the restaurant to ensure that everyone is receiving adequate service. Turning your eyes to the menu, you will see that there is plenty of variety, yet not too much variety where you can become overwhelmed. How much choice does one really want, eh? After deciding upon the dish of your desire, your food will be procured with the utmost care from very skilled chefs. This is an excellent time to enjoy the company of your fellow diner go-er/go-ers. Not too short, yet not too long after, you will pleasantly find a wonderfully prepared meal right in front of you for the taking. The portions are great and will likely leave with leftovers for later. It’s hard to find a restaurant that combines excellent service with outstanding and consistent food. Central Station Restaurant has it all.

TL;DR: delicious food with even better service! Prices are extremely reasonable too. I came in for lunch as I was in town. The facilities were extremely clean and I was greeted with a smile. Carmen was my server, she was so sweet and gave me good recommendations. I got the special: cheddar bacon burger with waffle fries (Carmen recommended the waffle fries as do I). Food came out within 10-15 minutes of ordering, food is served with two (I expected slices but I'm not complaining) pickle wedges. The food was great, nothing undercooked and everything went well together great. The burger only cost $9 and I probably would've paid at least 12-15 for it, plus it comes on grilled sourdough! The waffle fries were fried to perfection, crispy and seasoning in every bite. I would come here again, she says they have a great Friday fish fry that I want to try next time I'm out here!

The Google location is correct. We ended up doing a lap around the block because we just did not see it the first time and we were looking for it. Once inside I found a clean, inviting local diner with some obvious locals enjoying their lunches. The food was very well prepared. I had the Chiavetta's marinated chicken wrap. Excellent. There is outdoor seating alongside the building and I am sure it would be very nice in warmer weather during the summer. I will definitely return to try more from the menu.

My co-workers and I ordered food for our lunch breaks. We each ordered one of the daily specials, plus a single chocolate chip cookie. We placed our order around 11 a.m. and was told an estimated delivery time of 11:45-12:00 p.m. At 12:30 when we still hadn't received our order, I called them back and politely inquired on what the status was. My question was met with a snotty tone from "Madeline" who stated that they "got busy" so the order wasn't even completed yet. She assured me that the order would be ready and out the door in ten minutes. (Our work location is only a few streets down from the restaurant) HALF AN HOUR LATER.. we got our delivery- the delivery guy apologized for the manager and said that he included some extra goodies for us. We were charged a delivery fee on EACH order (3 fees for the same location!!??) and when we opened up our "extra goodies" we found a few cookies and a rice crispy treat but, NOT the chocolate chip cookie that we actually paid for, or the sour cream and salsa that was supposed to go with one of the meals. If this was the first time this has happened I wouldn't be writing this but this has happened previously and it's unfortunate because the food is usually pretty good. We will not be ordering...

Central Station was great! We got takeout on a Friday and the fish fries were amazing! Some of the family had the beer battered and I had the pan fried, both were fantastic. Sides were also great 👍. I also got the coconut shrimp and they were crunchy and very flavorful. The dipping sauce wasn't my jam, but overall great. The only criticism I have is just attention to detail... Tartar sauce was missing in half the fish fries. They forgot my soup (hubs said that the clam chowder was awesome) that I ordered, but didn't give me any issue when I came back in to get it. It's one of a few local places so it was of course busy on this beautiful fall evening, staffing seemed to not be an issue, but the gentleman that was at the counter cashing me out was def flustered and overwhelmed. He wasn't the friendliest but wasn't unfriendly either.

Overall though a great first time experience that my family enjoyed! We look forward to frequenting this restaurant in the future and I can't wait to...
