I was here for a company lunch banquet and honestly, I was not impressed. A lot of what I'll be saying is a combination of my experience along with what some of the locals told me in passing. We had a large group of about 20ish people for the banquet. So we had to rent out the basement room for events like that. We all got water, fountain drink if requested, a salad and garlic bread to start. We got a pizza buffet cooked to order. For an Italian restaurant, the pizza was surprisingly unauthentic. It reminded me of all-you-can-eat style buffet pizza from a Chinese restaurant. Supposedly, even if you don't do the banquet, it tastes the same. The salad was really good though. They use their own in-house dressing. I was told if I ever go here again, the garlic knots and Stromboli are a must try. So I do plan on visiting again for that. Contrary to the disappointing pizza, the service was phenomenal. I always had a full glass of both water and pop. And the waitresses were quick to clean up dishes as our entire party were finished with them. The last point I want to mention, this place is in Frankenmuth, Bavarian-esque town, famous for Zehnder's bakery, fudge, cheese. You'd have to be a crazy lady to come to Frankenmuth and choose the Italian place.

Comfortable yet stylish, upscale atmosphere here, and the hostess and wait staff were great. They're open till 10 PM weekends, a plus for Frankenmuth, where almost everything closes at 8 PM. (What to do after that?? I guess bring sausages and cheese and drinks from the ubiquitous sausage and cheese "hauses" back to one's hotel room and party there.) 5/5 for service and ambience. The Margherita with a Twist pizza, with capicola ham (the welcome, slightly spicy twist on the standard recipe), was marvelous and filling. Very rarely will I eat the crust of a pizza (deep dish and stuffed excepted) but this one was irresistible--although it could use more garlic. I wished for more fresh basil as well, to play off the capicola, but this pizza was super tasty! 5/5 My girlfriend's loaded potato boats were very good. 4/5 Origin of the Margherita pizza: Wikipedia notes a Naples, Italy legend has it the pizza was created to honor the visiting Queen Margherita in 1889. Its toppings represent the three colors of the Italian flag: tomato for red, fresh basil for green, and mozzarella cheese for white. Pretty cool!

We went for breakfast to find breakfast is not served past 11 AM. And it was 10:58am So my girl and I had the spinach dip and a Reuben and like always we shared 1/2 &1/2 alike. The sandwich came with sauerkraut which is good but the sauerkraut had bacon in it and I’m not a big fan of that so I had that sauerkraut removed( bummer) The corn beef was thin cut deli slices. The spinach dip came in a big soup bowl and there’s a lot of it. the spinach dip was made with an entire brick of cream cheese so plan on taking some home to put on a bagel for later. It was good , just cream cheesy opposed to mozzarella-y . The menu looked like they have some good food on it so we would go back to try something else. There were quite a few gluten-free pasta options. That would be nice to try.

First impressions: at first, we didn’t think we’d get a table right away because there were people waiting on a table, but then we instantly got a table of 4 and we were delighted with the atmosphere. This was the first time I had ever gone to frankenmuth, so I really wanted to make sure I chose a place that seemed to have pretty good food. When we sat down we realized how cozy yet busy the place was, and we also realized that it was definitely an Italian restaurant with old time charm. The menus were well put together, described different add~ons modifications thoroughly, and the prices expected to pay for modded items were straightforward.

Server: we did start out with one server, and we was fantastic. She was patient and when my boyfriend and I asked for spiked hot cocoa she knew exactly how to describe the flavor profiles as well as what comes in it and even pointing out other options in case that one no longer sounded appealing to us. After she viewed our IDs, we received a different server, I’m thinking the other server only started off our table and we were in the 2nd ladies section? However, we couldn’t complain. The service was still great, despite the fact that we had a few slip ups with our orders, the food looked so good and it was piping hot coming out. Our server ensured that everything came out on time and checked in frequently. I really liked our server. The only thing I’ll say is that it was pretty off that she waited by our table till we signed the receipt, because apparently they don’t take the card until you sign the receipt which was very different to me, but hey it was still good. My 1 true criticism is that I feel like there were a few mistakes. We asked for pepperonis, banana peppers, and mushroom on our pizza and only received pepperonis and banana peppers, and our first batch of wings we wanted bone in but they brought us boneless. You guys have to pay attention to what you’re ringing in, and before you bring any orders out make sure you can spot out any mishaps with the order. That’s what separates a great server from a good server. Service was still an 8.5/10.

Drinks: the spiked hot cocoa was verrryyyy good, I just wish that the peppermint schnapps taste came through more though, I was so excited for that chocolate peppermint flavorful punch but didn’t quite receive that. I rate this drink about a 6.5/10, it was still good but not great. I still enjoyed it though.

Food: the food was excellent, the wings were so fresh and hot both times, and the pizza was the same. The wings had nice crunch to them, and were of great quality clearly. I rate the wings a 8.2/10 it was very good! The pizza stole the show, it looked like pizza straight out of a Disney cartoon. Those chefs in the back killed it with the pizza. We had a mistake on our pizza and couldn’t send it back because it just looked so good! The dough at the bottom was cooked just right, it was cheesy and didn’t lack toppings at all. Just enough pepperonis and just enough peppers. The pizza size was x-large and it was definitely x-large, it was enough for all 4 of us to have 3 slices each ! That pizza was a 10/10 I legit had zero complaints about it and I really wish I could have pizza like that on a weekly basis lol.

Overall, very fun experience coming here and I’m glad I picked out this restaurant. I truly can’t wait to come back some day, I’m telling all of my friends and family about this place because...

  • in regards to the response from management, yes, waiting five minutes for our drinks and menus was a bit aggravating, but the experience could still have been a lot better so don’t try to put all the blame on the Rude waitress that you employ for the rest. As for the rest of the problems no we did not ask to speak to the manager because our waitress was only at the table to drop our drinks off, drop our food off, and drop the bill off and drop it on the table as she walked by besides with a waitress that is so rude and not attentive to the customer what would make you think that she would get a manager in a reasonable amount of time? Not to mention how was getting a manager going to change the fact that your $13 one item pizza and your chicken Chardonnay that taste like microwave food or school food is gonna change? I understand you may have been in business for 47 years but you would think in 47 years your system would be a lot smoother then what it is and your food would be 100 times better and would reflect the outrageous prices at your charging. no worries I will not be a customer of yours ever again.

I recently dined at da Vinci’s restaurant. What a joke. First, they should not call a restaurant. They should call it a café or da Vinci’s basement dining because the Atmosphere in the place reminded me of a café, or someone’s basement. The waitress we had was absolutely utterly horrible. We sat there for almost 5 minutes without anybody giving us menus. Utensils are asking us what we wanted to drink. Then when she did arrive, she had an attitude she drink wrong mind you, it was two drinks, a water and a Coke wrong. Very snarky and rude. The food reminded me of junior high high school cafeteria food. I paid $13 for what tasted like a microwave pizza $13 for a microwave tasting pizza with one topping that had we say six slices cause that’s how it was cut but to be fair it was probably like a personal size pizza like a four slice either way $13 absolutely ridiculous ( you can get a large three topping pizza for the same price or less, depending on where you go )and then we had the chicken Chardonnay. It wasn’t horrible, but it reminded me of a microwave meal or something you would get out of high school. I don’t understand how they charge so much for so little, the food not the greatest restaurant quality atmosphere like I said reminds me of a café or someone’s basement it’s wide open. It’s loud tables were uneven so you had to keep your foot on the legs the tables so they wouldn’t rock while you were eating the absolutely atrocious horrible , absolutely not. Whoever runs and manages that place needs to take a better assessment of the staff the food the quality and definitely the pricing. I paid $33 and some change for horrible service and very very subpar food. I paid 35 at Luckys steakhouse actual restaurant servers were nice, polite, prompt attentive atmosphere was a lot better , Da Vinci is not worth the...

Food was awesome. Service was extremely bad. We arrived at the restaurant and was a 30-40 minute wait so we asked if we could sit at the bar until a table was ready and Wes told by Ann that we could so she brought us to the bar. We waited and watched people getting served that came in after us. We finally we able to get service and ordered a couple drinks bread sticks and pickle chips everything was generated food wise. After about 45 minutes my wife went and asked when we would be seated and was told we were never put on the list and we would have to wait another 45 minutes before being seated. Ann called the manager over and my wife explained that Ann was rude with her and he said she was not rude( he wasn’t even there when she was rude). He got very short with my wife and when she came back to the bar and explained what happened I asked if she wanted to leave and she said yes so I asked for my bill and was waiting to pay and the manager Dan came over with a huge attitude and said you sitting there or at a table! Very rudely! So I said don’t talk to my wife like that ad he told me to leave! Wow I was floored. So told him I’m paying my bill and he told me to leave agin and then I repeated my self again then inform him I was paying my bill . He then said he was calling the police and I told him I don’t care call them I’m paying my bill and leaving he didn’t want to give me my debit card back because I changed my mind and was going to pay cash as I didn’t want to chance getting over charged by the manager. I will NEVER go back there again I drove almost 2 hours and for service like that those two am and Dan should be fired but they are probably family so it will keep happening. I have seen several other reviews with similar issues. Such a shame for good food but with service like...
