La Choza Mexican Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in City of Industry

I went to La Choza this morning to eat 4 eggs and 4 bacon. That's all I was in the mood to eat. . Prior to ordering I first ask the gentleman how much would it cost to order 4 eggs and 4 bacon? He appeared confused. I then asked him in Spanish. He was still confused.

After about a minute or so another gentleman came to see what was going on. I asked the second gentleman how much would it cost to order 4 eggs and 4 bacon? He too appeared confused. I asked him again in Spanish. But he was still confused.

After I explained that I wanted 4 scrambled eggs and 4 slices of bacon on one plate so I can eat it inside their restaurant, the second gentleman tallied the price. It came to $18.74.

Even though I had more than enough money to pay for it, I thought charging $18.74 for 4 eggs and 4 slices of bacon was ridiculous.

Best Mexican food in the Hacienda Heights & La Puente area. It's hidden in a not so pretty shopping center, but don't let the exterior fool you. They have a reasonably priced, really good lunch buffet, during the week and a very good brunch buffet on the weekends. The standard beans & Mexican rice are really good. The beans remind me of the beans my Abuelita (Grandma) used to make. The tacos are really good. The chicken and shredded beef is tender, tasty and seasoned very well. My favorite dish is the molcajete with carne asada, chicken and chorizo served with bell peppers, nopales (cactus) and onion in a boiling red sauce. I usually ask for extra nopales and less meat. They also have a good selection of beers and alcoholic drinks to go with your meal. I have been here 2 other times and was good enough we went back a 3rd time what a mistake, they actually charge for chips and salsa now , i have never heard of that in mex restaurant ...we had a bean& Cheese burrito $11.95 I could have made 7 burritos at home for what tbey charge for one and a custom burrito $12.95 custom meaning it had about 2 tablespoons of diced up steak in it, nothing on tbe side just burritos no rice nothing , served on a plate with apiece of wa paper ...one glass of chardonnay and one diet Coke and the basket of chips and salsa our hill was $52 not including tip...food was run of the mill and service was lousy , I would not return even if they offered the food free and on top of that I had diarrhea from the meal.I don't know why but I left a $10 tip bc that is 20% I should have left a dollar...
