I visited this location twice. As someone who deals with a bit of anxiety, I initially chalked the service up to possibly new or nervous staff. But after my second visit, it became clear that wasn’t the case. During my first visit, I ordered a scallion bun that needed to be warmed up. It was heated twice but still came out cold. I decided to accept it cold b/c I did feel bad lol, but a staff member came over a third time to inform me that it had actually never been warmed up in the first place. Mistakes happen, and I was okay with that at the time. However, there was some pressure and defensiveness around a sandwich my friend ordered. It didn’t match the description, and bringing that up seemed to create tension rather than conversation when she could not eat it. On our second visit, the energy immediately felt off — almost hostile. That left a lasting impression, unfortunately. It could not be linked to the original visit as the initial interaction this time around was a different employee. We likely would not end up returning based on today.
That said, the space itself is lovely: the atmosphere is great, the café is clean (& quiet), and the chai is genuinely very good — not watered down like some other spots nearby. I’d recommend it...

What a wonderful gem of a coffee shop in the middle of Middletown. We had mocha lattes made with their fresh roasted beans and they were delicious. The pastry selection, which is displayed in the middle of the dining room for self-service, was varied and looked awesome. I had an apple turnover which was delicious but a bit small. My wife had a raspberry twist which she loved.
The place is spotless the decor is new (if you're looking for an old school hardwood dark coffee shop with brooding music this isn't it). They had very comfortable seating and tables and a really deep variety of coffee accessories for sale as well as whole beans. They even have a meeting room you can use for free for up to an hour with a $10 purchase and then $20 an hour after. I think that is a really good idea for a shop like this.
If I were local I would make this my regular place.
The staff were...
Read moreDAYES Coffee Roasters is a beautiful spot, inside and out. I loved the cozy back porch and the ex-chair out front—it’s such a nice touch! The bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus. The affogato al caffè was hands down the best in town, and the cappuccino was awesome. Having half and half available was a bonus too. However, with prices this high, I’d expect more welcoming service. There were three people behind the counter, but no one engaged until it was my turn to order. Eye contact and a friendly vibe would make the experience much better. Also, the pastries didn’t stand out; they looked dry and all the same. Overall, it was a nice experience, but I definitely spent way more than anyone would want to on coffee. Especially in a small town like this. They had city prices. Definitely cute spot and a work space available for purchase.. I...
