I really want to give this place -4 stars but cant. I just left this place about 20 minutes ago after being BARKED on by the woman behind the counter w/short brown hair. After i walked in I stood behind a hispanic customer who gave her order in Spanish. The woman behind the counter walked away. By this time I'm standing at the counter for 15 minutes and NO-ONE came over and asked if I wanted to order. I finally said "excuse me can I order pls?". She proceeds to turn around and YELL at me "CAN I FINISH WITH THEM?!" and turns around w/her back is towards me. That was not only unprofessional but I would say racist and humiliating; as i was the only African American in there. If I were Hispanic, I'm quite sure her behavior would have been different. She didnt know who I was, I could have been w/the Dept of Health or Dept of Labor doing a surprise visit. Overall point is this: your business is in a diverse neighborhood; your JOB is to be professional; treat ALL your customers w/dignity and respect.
I dont a response from anyone in this establishment- will never give my money...
Read moreI have lived in Fleetwood for years, but avoided this deli after finding it a bit pricey years ago. A month ago I went back for another try and ordered an Eggplant panini and iced coffee, which I really enjoyed. I then returned a week later to order breakfast, however the treatment I received from the lady behind the counter was extremely rude. I stood in line to order my breakfast, but she decided to take a “regular” who walked in and went right to the register. When I finally went to place my order the lady took half my order and walked away, when I tried to tell her I needed something else she shushed me and told me I needed to wait. I waited and finished my order and the food was great. I tried to overlook it and went back today, however the man behind the counter did the same thing and gave me attitude. Does this deli not want you to order more than one item? Also I saw my breakfast waiting behind the counter for 10 minutes and I actually had to remind the guy that I was waiting for my food. I’m sorry but I think this will be my last...
Read moreSmall neighborhood deli located on busy Gramatan Ave, there is only street parking. It is a small place with alot of selections. I've been there twice within the last two weeks. (In addition to at least 5 other times)The few tables are always occupied, but they may be the neighborhood locals hanging out. First purchase was only homefries for breakfast as take out. They tasted watered down and greasy. I then went back for lunch as another take out. Purchased lasagna and a panini. The clerk was going to put the panini in the microwave before Istopped him. Isn't panini supposed to have a crisp crust? At home, I put it in the toaster oven. It the inside was still soggy and no flavor. The lasagna was the same. Where's the seasoning?! Maybe I just picked the wrong items. But they have a variety of sandwiches, hot food bar and salads. Employees weren't too happy either. Good luck...
