Thoroughly enjoyed this spot. We finally came in after following for years on social media when I believe the owners would be delivering food to locals throughout Westchester during the pandemic.
So let’s get down to it, my family and I came in right around 4 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon. We know it’s a college spot so we didn’t want to risk going during a lunch or dinner rush.
When we walked in we were the only ones there and were quickly greeted by a young gentleman and a woman in the kitchen area.
Our order: 1 order of chicken fingers & fries 1 mac & cheesesteak bowl. 1 traditional sandwich (shortie size) and 1 Chopped Chicken Parm Philly (New Item)
I had originally asked for the Rocky Cheesesteak but since it had mozzarella and marinara sauce the young man took notice and recommended their new Chicken Parm Philly. As a chicken parm fan, I couldn’t say “no”
Our order was in and I took some pictures of the shop. It’s clean, bright, tidy and printed menus are available along with a poster board on the left side wall with their full menu.
I’ve seen interior picture of the location from before and it looks like the new color scheme and dripping cheese theme were put up recently. I think it ties in together very well.
While we waited for our food to go, the gentleman told us that this week the shop was beginning to use its own custom steak blend so he was “excited for us to try it in the traditional sandwich and in the Mac & cheesesteak bowl.”
So how is the food?
We don’t know what the steak blend tasted like before.. but as of right now, this blend is delicious. It works very well.
The traditional sandwich. Served on soft bread yet, it holds up very well to the steak with an adequate amount of whiz. The steak blend has a good amount of fat throughout. But don’t be discouraged, it doesn’t make the sandwich greasy at all. The mix in this sandwich is very well made.
The chicken fingers are on point. They’re taken from their homemade chicken cutlets made to size and the textured fries are perfect for the little ones that may not be in the mood for a sandwich. Some other spots would cut corners and warm up frozen chicken fingers for little ones.. but Crotty’s makes their chicken fingers from their own cutlets. That’s a plus!
The Mac & Cheesesteak Bowl. I didn’t see this on their available menu in the shop, but it came up as if I were going to do an order online. I’m glad I asked if it was available. Crotty’s isn’t using the “boxed stuff”. They have a three cheese blend plus their homemade cheese sauce mixed with their elbow pasta then topped with their steak blend. This dish is delicious! Can’t wait to try the other Mac & cheese bowls. There’s a chicken teriyaki bowl and a pesto bowl to name a few others.
The Chopped Chicken Parm Philly. I’m a sucker for chicken parm but only if it’s done right and Crotty’s has done it right. The homemade cutlets, along with their homemade marinara sauce are mixed so well with caramelized onions and bell peppers. They then tuck all of it into the soft bread. You think it wont hold up, but there’s enough sauce to cover all the goods but it doesn’t make the bread soggy.
OVERALL: Definitely want to come back with the family and try other items.

Read moreThanks Marietta and the Yelp Hudson Valley Instagram account for posting about Crotty’s! We stopped by one afternoon for lunch and tried this hole in the wall! There is not much seating at this place (2 tables with some chairs and a few high tops at the windows). The tables were occupied when we got there. The girl at the front was nice and we got our food about 10 minutes after ordering. It was pretty cold in there (even the girl at the front complained to us about it) and it was SO quiet. I was so uncomfortable standing beside the people who were there just listening to them chew 🤢! Because it’s so small/semi full we decided to take our food home. By the time we got there stuff was soggy. Not the restaurants fault, but I would have liked to eat there. We got the traditional cheesesteak with caramelized onions and whiz and it was so good!! I would have liked to have a little more whiz on my sandwich or have it more dispersed throughout it instead of just on the bottom. You get a ton of food for the price and the bun was great! We also had the fries (would have been better to eat there) and a small Mac n cheese which were also good! I’d definitely go back to try something else and hopefully sit there.
Oh! And when we were getting ready to leave a guy wearing a first responder jacket came in and she said he got 10% off for his service so that’s nice! They also have a code for 10% off on Tuesday’s because they are closed on Monday’s. There is also a 4% charge if you use credit cards so bring cash for a...
