Gemelli Pizzeria — Restaurant in City of New Rochelle

Visited 8 days ago just got around to leaving my review here:

Ordered pasta and sautéed broccoli was fine enough. Beautiful decor inside and thought to myself I'll come back and bring my family of 8 to eat here. Tuh. Get to the counter and wait. The young lady standing there looks up and doesn't say a word. Not hello, not give me a minute...nothing. No smile. Nothing. Ok. I say hello and tell her I'm there to pick up an order. I go out of my way to be pleasant. She continues to do what she's doing and still doesn't acknowledge me. So now I stare at her the way she's staring at me. Finally she says "give me a minute". She's still cold and unwelcoming. Finally, she finds my bag, places it on the counter kind of aggressively and goes back to doing what she was doing. No thank you, no come again, nothing. I think maybe she's having a bad day but I'm turned off. Dude with a giant cowboy hat comes in and she acknowledges him immediately. She's pleasant, she finds his order immediately she thanks him. Guess the difference between me and that man? This place is right next to Iona college and takes their meal plan. I'm guessing they're used to a certain clientele and I didn't fit the description they're used to. I moved to Westchester about 6 months ago and this unfortunately is not the first time I've had this type of interaction. It's unfortunate. I spent 40 dollars on two items and had they been nicer I would have brought my family as we eat out often and never spend less than 200...

Gemellis is great and definitely worth a visit. I’ve been here a ton of times and tried plenty of items on the menu. The classic cheese pizza is great, the buffalo chicken pizza is great, and the chicken bacon ranch pizza is also great. The best pizza however in my opinion is the broccoli rabe pizza. There are several great pasta dishes as well. I would say the pizza is definitely what you would look at getting and nicer restaurant as opposed to what a classic traditional pizza in NY would taste like. The pizza is however quite good. The only reason for a 4/5 instead of 5/5 is due to the price. Since all the restaurants on this strip cater to Iona students and staff the prices are definitely a bit higher than they should probably be. I would definitely still recommend...

I highly recommend Gemelli's for dinner and for hosting special celebrations. My daughter had her sweet 16 there recently and it was a wonderful experience! Gemelli's has curated an amazing team of people to handle special events. To the Entire team- from the youngest member of the waitstaff to Joe, the manager and everyone in between, we Appreciate your hard work and the kindness you showed us. To Janis, Juliana and Anwar, your warmth and professionalism are commendable. My family and guests are still raving about the food and the quality service.
