Ray's Kitchen — Restaurant in City of Norwich

Found during a google search for a place to eat while traveling through town. We arrived near end of lunch time but waitress said she would get us food. Was told under new ownership and waitress could not answer all questions we asked. After food arrived the lights were shut off in dining area as it was considered”closed” until dinner time but we could remain to finish our food. A bit awkward. The avocado salad was ok. Chicken pieces a bit dry and dressing had a bit too much vinegar. The burrito was folded as opposed to rolled so the tortilla was thick and chewy. Burnt on one side. No salsa. Bland seasonings. Other two meals at table were just ok. Bonus was the order of French fries. They came out...

First time visiting this place. Had dinner and ordered the special ribeye steak and had a kids dinner if chicken and fries. The steak I ordered was medium well and came with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies (carrot broccoli and cauliflower blend). The steak came medium rare medium well. But cut around the rate parts as was sharing with kid. Potatoes good. Veggies cooked but not overly so. Service was great. Atmosphere is so so as older home converted on corner. Not a lot of parking except cross the street. Seats are old in most cases old wood benches with backs to make booths. Not super comfy for long periods. But the food makes up for it. My burger and fries were delicious and cooked to a perfect medium-rare, as requested. My super finicky daughter LOVED her spaghetti n meatballs. As someone very skeptical of "outside" Italian food, I tried a couple bites when she reheated it later, back at our hotel and have to admit, it's the best I've had outside of mine or a friend's home! I apologize for forgetting her name, but our server was simply AMAZING!!! So friendly and sweet! Very attentive but not rushing us or asking us questions while we were stuffing our faces! I sincerely hope we end up in her section again, when we go back! Definitely intend on making this our payday...
