JJ's on the River — Restaurant in City of Ogdensburg

Stopped on a beautiful mid-July afternoon for lunch. There was quite a wait for service. Not sure if they were under staffed or if that is the norm,as it was peak lunch time. The outdoor seating area was nice. As it is located adjacent to the Hosmer's Marina, there was a view of the Oswegatchie River and docked boats. The food was good. My son had a turkey panini with apple, provolone cheese and cranberry mayo. I thought it looked anemic. Look at the photo and judge for yourself. I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp and avocado. The salad was average. I had to request the avocado as it was left off. The shrimp was tasty, but the salad was off, maybe lettyce was a little old. We ordered pretzel sticks that came with mustard and house.ade beer cheese. I think the beer cheese was the best part of the meal

I got the chef salad and it was great. Plenty of meat cheese and dressing along with salad greens. My friend got the fried clams and her daughter got the children's chicken strips. Both said their meals were good as well. We got the mozzarella wedges to share along with the onion basket to share both were very good. If you are a coffee lover though, do not get coffee here as it was not to either of our liking and the waitress said it was a freshly made batch so it wasn't old it is whatever brand they are using... and I remember that exact taste of coffee as it is the same kind as Potsdam Hospital uses and I had to drink it for a 4 day stay just a couple months ago for a hip replacement... I do recommend the food and will eat here again but just will not be having coffee if I do dine in which is something I always like to do. They also deliver in the city limits in case anyone needs to know this or is seeing this visiting our city as a tourist...

The place was dirty, first and foremost. We chose this location for our lunch due to the reviews and stars. After being there, I mentioned to my family that the folks of Ogdensburg are very generous with their stars.

The service was comparable to a teenager begrudgingly having to do chores. The food was nothing to write home about. I got a burger, which I didn't finish it wasn't bad, but I've had better at a chip truck. I wouldn't buy it again. The floors had garbage all over them and spills. Which was not cleaned the whole hour we were there. So, cleanliness is not a priority. There is an accessible door. However, you have to go through rough GA (gravel) to get to the door. Also, it is worth noting that I tried ordering other things before the burger. Many items were out of stock. That kind of sucked. Several plates were missing an ingredient or two, so you had to...
