Clark's Subs — Restaurant in City of Olean

Great food, usually good service. Today I was told by employee Aaron that because of a mistake made on my order, that I had to return my wrong sub in order to get the correct one “free of charge”. I wasted an hour and a half driving to and from the store, in total driving 6 separate trips. The two woman at the front counter were very kind about the experience and apologized, and all Aaron did was try to find a valid reason for why he made me make multiple trips. Very disappointed with the service (along with no apology from him) today as I do love the shop.

As a transplant, born and raised in Philly, finding a decent-tasting cheesesteak or hoagie in WNY or western PA has been nearly impossible...until Clark's! I got a chicken cheesesteak but asked that they chop the chicken in small bits (just like a beef cheesesteak), which they obliged. When I took the first bite, I was blown away at how close it tasted to an authentic cheesesteak found in Philly!! My decade-long search for a taste from home is over. If you want an authentic-tasting cheesesteak, but a trip to Philly isn't a reality, then...

Way better than any small town sub shop has any right to be.

As an out-of-towner, Clark's was recommended by multiple people. Getting hype as a sub shop in Olean is no easy feat - with a half dozen solid options already out there. Somehow, even with all this, Clark's exceeded my expectations.

Don't let the unassuming location and storefront fool you: this is easily the best sub I've had in a decade. Possibly tied for the best in Olean ever.

Worth going out of your way to try, even if you're visiting or driving...
