Friendly's — Restaurant in City of Olean

My family stopped for a meal on Sunday nite, six of us. First they wanted to put us in a booth, i said please give us a table we will not fit in a booth. That made them mad, 4 adults and 2 teens is a tight fit, its a fact. They took us to a table that was filthy with alot of food on the floor. I washed the table myself after the waitress put our menus right in the sticky mess. Okay so we just want to eat and go home, we then wait about 25 minutes for a waitress. We said we just wanted to order and she acted ticked and said she would get drinks first. So she took our orders and then brought drinks. Two of us ordered sweet tea, she sets all the drinks down and then said they did not have sweet tea so she would give us some sugar, Really? Then we waited about another 25-30 minutes and realized we were not even given silver ware and could not stir the sugar in the tea. Finally she comes back with food and it looks like it came out of the trash can. The salad is not as ordered, and the fries looked like yesterdays,dark and shriveled & like they took one order & split it to 3 plates. We were disgusted, and mind you we are not used to anything fancy. The pregnant waitress had gotten bitchy with us when we commented on the salad and fries. Had to ask for silver to eat with, so she sent her boss over to see us like we were the problem. They boss got us more fries, the waitress did not offer us a box or refills and did not bring the kids icecream. We had to ask for it and when i paid the bill she wadded my copy and was going to toss it. I asked her to please give it to me. As we left another waitress was in the kitchen crying. What a mess this place is. Mcdonalds is much better then Friendlys in...

If I could rate zero I would. The server in question, whose name I will not divulge out of respect for their personal anonymity, made us wait for 20 minutes after seating before they took our drink order. Following this, I watched six different tables get drink and food orders before they finally came to get ours. We then proceeded to wait for 40 minutes after this. When our food came out, the order was completely wrong except for my partner’s. Literally not a single order of my daughter’s order was correct and my plain burger came out with lettuce, onions and mayo. They were gracious enough to correct my daughter’s order. After seeing the service we had been given to that point, I did not trust the establishment enough to not mess up my amended order, so I sat there with the untouched burger in front of me until my family was ready to leave, I paid the full order and I didn’t tip a penny. The server earned every penny of their tip tonight. This place is a clown show, and not worthy of the hour drive and gas we wasted to dine here.

If you can handle the risk of the food orders getting hilariously bungled, it was a friendly environment and I felt like at the bare minimum it was a pleasant...

I've always loved Friendly's!! Love the kids menu for variety as well as prices. I love the friendly staff and the fact that they still pass out activity papers and crayons to children. The food is reasonably priced and portioned and I don't think I've ever eaten anything there that I didn't love! And then of course there is the matter of dessert! So many yummy, rich, delicious choices!! The only small complaint I do have is that somewhat recently they installed a little tablet on a stand at each table on which you can order if you prefer and on which you can pay if you prefer...and all that is great. BUT there are also games you can play if you want and they are NOT free. They automatically get added to your bill and it's a distraction if you have a child dining with you and you don't want them to play the games but they keep asking. It's also very possible for them to play without your permission if you are unaware that there are games on it. But that is a very small downside when the food is so delicious and the atmosphere is...
