We ate here last night. Stopped in after exploring Watkins Glen. There were roughly 5 or 6 tables aside from us. All of the tables were grouped together, all in the same tiny little section. There was only ONE server on. His name was Cayden. Cayden was extremely busy, but very attentive to each table. His service was wonderful. I will say though, the entire mood of our meal shifted when someone (possibly the cook), SCREAMED at Cayden from the back "Cayden, your damn food is going cold". Cayden was taking an order from a newly sat table that was right next to me and my friend. Our food came out a couple moments later, and it was nowhere near going cold. My food was steaming hot! When I approached Cayden, he stated "Oh yeah, he does that every shift. It could only two tables here, and he does that". To treat your wait staff that way, knowing they are the ONLY one on. And knowing there were multiple tables, was very upsetting. I commend Cayden, because as someone who has worked in restaurants nearly their entire life, I would had walked out. This young man, I believe he said he was 20, not only rushed from taking orders l, to bring plates out, but he went back to each table, checked on the diners, and was cashing everyone out by himself. He did an amazing job at handling everything and his attitude was extremely positive! He is the type of server that restaurants should...
Read moreThey showed no concept of atmosphere or courtesy, and the food tasted like it was reheated, not fresh. We entered and hostess Emily sat us on a booth against the wall, which I couldn't even fit into so I said, "let's grab this one not against the wall," where I fit right in Emily snapped back, "They're all the same size!" And walked off. Cayden was a decent server, attentive, and reasonably personable, but relayed terrible cynicism about working there, so that dampened the mood worse. We ordered a sizzler hotplate and the steak tasted like it was reheated in a microwave cause it was rubbery as a car tire. I got pancakes that were rubbery and nearly cold. Eggs benedict I ordered had its problems, the hollandaise sauce was far too overcooked, broken down and watery, the bread item it was served on was not crisp and fresh but chewy. Just has all the signs of carelessly tossing in a microwave and handing it to the server with no care to the finished product. I've been in foodservice since 1995, and love to cook at home fresh, hot meals (including hollandaise from scratch) every day. I will NOT be back to this location. It needs a manager who can lead from the front to fix the attitudes and cook decent food with taste and...
Read moreSo my children and I ate here tonight. I have to say the staff was amazing!! They were so kind and even gave us free desserts!! But I had to rate as a 3 because of a few reasons. They weren't very packed but were acting as tho they were. We had to wait a bit to be seated which was okay but once we were seated we only seen the waitress a couple times and it took awhile for each time she did come to us. We waited 30 mins to ask for a take home box. And the only reason she approached was because my son popped up and said there she is. And she said I'll be right over and that was 10 minutes later. The burgers were amazing! My daughter said the grilled shrimp and fish were so good. My son really did not enjoy his scrambled eggs or hash browns, the hash browns were so hard he couldn't even bite them. We ended up buying him another meal, a burger. We paid for both meals tho. My meal was the turkey and stuffing. It was awful. The stuffing as well was very hard and the whole meal was just so bland and not very good. Desserts were delicious. All in all had to mark it as a 3. Not to be mean but as an honest review. We would eat...
