Stay away from Butchy’s BBQ. I went in today for BBQ for myself and my son. I’m assuming it was the owner that I was speaking with regarding the ribs and the heat he was experiencing in the kitchen. He didn’t have a mask on, but no big deal. I wanted to believe he was just recovering from the heat. While waiting for my order, I noticed an employee through the pickup window handling my food. She had no mask nor gloves! Then she barehanded corn bread into my to-go box. I had to say something to protect myself, my son, everyone I encounter. I went back to the kitchen door and told the ‘owner’ what I just saw and he said “Okay”. Time passed and after a few minutes, the employees still wore no masks! I cancelled my order and left as fast as I could. Regardless of COVID, gloves are required by NYS Law when touching ready to eat foods. With COVID, we all know, masks are required when indoors. What a shame because this place is right by my house and I enjoy BBQ. I hope you read this prior to going to Butchy’s BBQ or before this post gets deleted. You might not catch COVID but you would most likely catch a...
Read moreHad a Brisket Sandwhich tonight. The brisket was tender and moist. The Mac & Cheese was good too.
I have two complaints. When I ordered off Grubhub app the description reads "Slow Cooked succulent slices of beef brisket drizzled on a potato roll" however I recieved a chopped beef brisket sandwhich. I would of juar ordered the dinner of the slices had I known it was chopper. I was really hoping for the slices.
Second complaint is the roll in which the brisket is served on. It was a little soggy from the brisket drippings. If I may offer a few suggestions from past brisket sandwiches. If you throw the top of the roll on a grill tray, if you brown it a little with a little tiny amount of butter and a sprinkle of garlic powder, the slight browning creates a barrier so the drippings doesn't make the roll as soggy.
Otherwise. It was a very enjoyable dinner. I will definitely be giving...
Read moreI was hoping for something good as I love BBQ. Unfortunately, the food is disappointing. First, the ribs aren't St Louis style, they are baby backs, which are much leaner, and easy to overcook....theirs were very dry. When I go to any BBQ place in the country, a rack of ribs is just that, not baby backs, which can be dry, as mentioned, as well as baby backs are a much smaller portion, so poor value for what they charge. The ribs were misrepresented, if your serving baby backs, they should be advertised as such, I never order them, and wouldn't have had I known. The pulled pork was done properly, the meat was tender and juicy, however, there was very little detectable smoke, same with the ribs, and the beans. Nothing had any discernible smoke. The sauce was very tomato forward in it's taste profile, reminded more more of Italian sauce then BBQ. The cornbread was good. Overall not...
