Cafe Primavera — Restaurant in City of Poughkeepsie

So glad I walked in this spot. In a sea( well not that many, but still!) of usual suspects in the nearby vicinity (DD, and other small shops or cafes) this one stands out.

Taking a morning stroll because my checkout was a little later, I spotted this near the courts and all. Walking in, I was greeted with the soundscape of FM radio, conversation, laughter, and a most welcoming aroma of breakfast.

I am serious when I tell you, this place is old school, classic, and joyful in the best of ways. These guys greet you coming in, they know their clientele and community by name, and are friendly to strangers! Kindness.

I had the sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel with a black coffee and it wasn't even ten bucks! If it was I wouldn't be mad, but it says a lot about a good joint in these times. I would eat here regularly if I was a local. As a traveler, I will seek it out when nearby and I encourage you, as well.

I'm nobody, but that's my review. My pic was also of half my sandwich because I tore into it right away. Not sorry!

Excellent food. Excellent service. We are from out of town looking at Ancestry records and was time for lunch. So happy with our choice. It helped that someone passing us on the sidewalk said it was a good choice. Lots of locals eating here as well. We ate it before I thought of taking photos....sorry I could have llicked the plate. We had the shepherds pie....Excellent! And a turkey sandwich on Rye. Fresh turkey w/ lettuce/tomato and Swiss...
