Stopped in while visiting from out of town and loved the charm of the place. I was surprised there was only one natural wine considering the emphasis on their variety of wines but it was a good one. Ordered food, also very good. Wish there was a way to note which cheeses and such were on the charcuterie because as soon as the server told us what they were and walked away, we quickly forgot.
The reason for the two stars? Very inaccessible. Which is surprising since one of the things noted on the website is how LGBTQ+ friendly they are. I would think that would mean they were an inclusive business and ADA compliant. Not so. At all. As an ambulatory wheelchair user, I had to get out of my wheelchair in order to have it carried through the backdoor threshold (the only place without stairs but still no ramp and a raised threshold). Once in, I thought that would be the worst part. Turns out the bathrooms are zero ADA compliant. No grab bars, no room for you to open the door from in a chair (again, had to leave my chair to exit the bathroom first so I could then pull it out behind me since the door opens from within). Very disappointing. Especially as a new business. Very easy fixes to this problem that should have been considered when upfitting the building.
** Thank you for your response. It was the back door we entered through but the grade of the threshold was too high to proceed in the chair so had to stand up and pick it up. It was only because a server happened to be out front for a table were we made aware that entering through the back was the only accessible entry. However, I did not know that about the ADA bathroom and that is a huge plus. I will be back in August and look forward to visiting again and seeing how accessible it is. It's a great place and if it is accessible, I would love...
Read moreI just had the greatest sandwich I have ever had in my entire life, the duck Reuben is a euphoric level sandwich. top notch service, excellent people that genuinely care about your experience. 2 complaints-- 1:takes a long time to get food but ya know what? it's worth the wait so that knocks it back down to 1 complaint (just plan accordingly this isn't a quick bite spot) there's a bizarre "stand closer its shorter than you think" message written on the toilet seat in the bathroom which breaks from the entire vibe, paint over that and the place is perfect, I'll even come back and update the review and remove that side note. The desert the candied yams was also wonderful and the self serve water is actually a better set up for me because i drink a lot of water. Can't say enough good things. This is now a new self-care spot whenever i need a mood boost. The staff even remembered us from the night before and what we drank and offered other selections we might like. The list of awesome just...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place but I was not given that opportunity. I am giving 2 stars because the wine was good and the glasses were elegant. However, we had intentions of ordering charcuterie and staying but no one came over to our corner table near the fireplace. Upon entering, we were told to sit where we liked and someone would be over. After 15 minutes my husband had to go to the bar to order our wine and he carried it over to our table. Mind you, they could not use being very busy as an excuse, as only 4 tables were occupied. Within the half hour, 2 couples entered and sat near us. A waitress ran over to them with menus. Still did not acknowledge if we needed anything. Then she went back, took their order, served them wine and complimentary taralli. We never got asked if we wanted more wine, to order anything and needless to say, taralli! We left feeling very ignored and unwelcomed . Not right to treat anyone that way. What a...
