After holding a private event in the party room at Refinery 51 this weekend, I am beyond impressed. The space was terrific for our party- brick interior walls, tall ceiling, spacious yet intimate, right off the adorable patio, yet separate from the bar- but with our own private bar. The event coordinator and head chef were easy to work with and the selections we chose for a cocktail party was terrific. Was discussing dinner options and the other part of my party wanted steak, I was open to anything, and came across this place while looking at restaurants in the area. Reviews looked good, and they were right! First off, service was very welcoming and they made sure they got everything correct and checked on us here and there. Wish I could review the food and drinks but unfortunately the entire place was reserved for a private event. This is understandable, but Google said the place was open, and no one was standing by the door to let me know that they were closed for a private event. So I'm walking into this place getting weird looks from people who I now realized were part of the event. Maybe put a sign outside on the sidewalk or someone to secure the private event; because not for nothing, if I'm paying to reserve an entire restaurant, I want to know that the venue will secure...
