Arthur Jaxon Slice & Scoop — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I will start out on a positive as they have pretty good prices and more flavors of ice cream than many other places in the area. However, I am Not a fan of the exterior of this location. The sign that fails to cover up the old Abotts sign, the crumbling brick facade, and the lack of an interior seating option makes it not so pleasant an experience. The particular space is not conducive to having an interior seating area that will be comfortable and non industrial in feel. I know they are just starting out though and for a fresh starting business there is room for improvement, which isn't necessarily a bad thing because it leaves room to grow and goals to set. The family and friends working here are very nice and professional. Whole at this time I can only give 3 stars because of the deficits, I would say if they could find a way to buy the old Taco Bell or something like that and connect it to the plaza by removing their old current building, they would be in a much better spot as far as seating, etc. I think where they started out was good because it gave direct exposure to West Ridge in the small space, but it seems time to expand to remain competitive. There is a lot to like about Arthur Jaxon. I think their pizza is some of the best you can get in Rochester. The crust was perfectly crispy, and there was a great amount of spice to the pizza overall. I would go back for the pizza alone.

I love that they have such a variety in their ice cream flavors. Bear in mind that when I ordered from them, it was through GrubHub for delivery. I don't expect this kind of selection from a "pizza" place on GH, so that was a pleasant surprise to be able to choose from more than the generic chocolate, vanilla, strawberry that I usually get for my milkshakes.

The only negative was that I ordered a plate, and they sent it out for delivery without the hot sauce. I was a little bummed, because everything else about it was fantastic, and I know it would have been an amazing plate had it gotten the hot sauce. My husband and I use to get ice cream and pizza here all the time. Tonight I was craving ice cream so we decided to go here..my husband stood outside the window for 10 minutes while I sat in the car..the 4 people inside looked at him and I and no one came to the window..one employee was in there dancing while the another was sitting in a chair on her phone . The employee in the chair looked at both my husband and I multiple times but didn't get up or say anything.. my husband finally said through to her are you guys open and she finally got up. He placed the order and we then sat there another 15 minutes and finally got the ice cream.
