California Brew Haus — Restaurant in City of Rochester

White Trash at it's worst. I am talking about just trying to check on my 16 year old daughter and her friend. They went to a battle of the bands tonight. I was concerned because my daughter had never done anything like this and I was also responsible for her friend. I sent them in ahead of me - 4 dollar cover charge for each of them - ok - I thought it was 2 dollars. They came back to the car for more money. I gave it to them. But I decided to go in a bit after just to see if I felt it was safe for them to stay without me. I was greeted by a toothless woman who said it was 7 dollars to get in. I took out my wallet and proceeded to pay her while asking questions. Me: "What time does this go until?" Lady "what band are you here to see?" Me: "ummm - no one - but my daughter is here and I just want to make sure she is safe and I have a pick up time" her: "fine - just go in and check it out". I did but could not find my daughter or her friend in the sea of straightened long hair. So I went back to my car. Then I decided to go back in and sit at the adult bar and order a cheeseburger and wait for them. This older bleached blond skinny combover dude starts shouting at me (he followed me in) and I am thinking : great - this guy wants me to buy him a drink. But NO! Worse!!! He tells me I need to pay to get in! I'm like - ok - for what? And he says - you know - you came in before - I saw you. I said "I am just seeing if they have burgers to go here" he says "yeah - we do - but you owe 7 dollars" I took a breath - yea me! And realized there was no way I was going to pay 7 dollars to wait for my kid and her friend in this white trash place AND spend money on food. So I said "thanks!" And got the hell out of there. Luckily my daughter's friend's dad is bringing them home. NEVER...

I loved this place already because it's always been a fun and friendly atmosphere. The staff has always been cool and the regulars always greet you with a smile, even if they don't know you. I usually prefer making my own steak but I've heard that the prime rib at the California Brew Haus on Wednesdays is top tier so I figured I would give it a shot. They did not disappoint!! I ordered the queen cut and it came out super fast, cooked to perfection!! As delectable as it was, I couldn't finish half before I had to get a to go box. (I air fried that baby the next day for lunch and it was almost just as good!) My daughter was never a tenders and fries kid, it's usually alfredo– and she was equally impressed. Which says a lot for a mini food critic! The shows there are always a good time, too! A relaxed environment with good music, good food and...

I truly, truly, truly. Thank GOD I found another Gem in Rochester!!!

I was offered a Mackeson Stout [my first one!], needless to say, there is nothing I've dabbled in that compares!

The patio offered a nice place to cool down after a few rounds of pool ($1!!!) the stage was huge!! ( the events must be awesome!!!), the people, the food, [guys truly I'mI enjoying writing this. Lol because It's true!]

I believe this location should be deemed a historical landmark! Let's teach the other businesses that if you fight hard to protect your space, Keep it about the reason you started, and we all do our part to see the Good in each other.... become true Treasures in the 10th Ward.
