Dicky's Corner Pub — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I sat at the bar with a friend and was ignored for most of the night. While people around us were quickly served—given drinks, menus, and food—we struggled to even get basic attention. We were never offered food until we explicitly asked for menus, and even then, no one followed up to take our order.

What made this worse was the realization that I was the only Black person at the bar. My white friend was with me, but it was clear to both of us that service and attention were consistently going to others, not us. When I finally proactively asked for food, the bartender (Jess?) was combative and said I needed to wait my turn…even though we had been waiting for at least 20 minutes to order. She said I was angry because they didn’t have my drink order, when in reality I was fine with taking her recommendation on a different brand.

Love this neighborhood bar and come here frequently when I’m in town. Have you ever wanted to have a chill time at a bar like the one from Cheers? Do you just want to have a drink where there’s no pretentiousness of a cocktail menu where you can’t even pronounce half the drink names? Do you want a bartender that’s actually friendly and will chat with you? This is it right here. You can tell lots of locals are here but also very friendly for new people. Lots of space to sit and tables. Pool and darts are lots of fun. Drinks and food are great and they have an awesome jukebox. You have to try this sandwich they have, Neil Clark, that’s Turkey cheddar sandwich. It’s amazing. Highly recommend! They even have trivia nights on some Wednesdays and I can’t wait to go next time...

Went in at 6:30 on a Saturday night after being referred by another local bartender. We were the only people in the dining area and now I know why. First off, they were out of Catain Morgan & had no other spiced rum. Then, we tried to order dinner, I ordered a turkey burger, which they were out of. Then my husband tried to order steak quesadilla & they were out of steak???!!!! What do you have? We both ordered chicken quesadilla which were fair at best. The kids were the only one pleased with their plain pasta. So disappointed! Been living in the neighborhood for over 10 years & keep hoping Dicky’s will survive. This 4th attempt not...
