Montgomery Court — Restaurant in City of Rochester

Before Montgomery Court I had always driven by what I think used to be an antique store without a second thought, however after my 1st breakfast burrito I’m happy to say it doesn’t disappoint. I have been to South America and although that isn’t the home of the Burrito, Costa Ricans sure do know how to make a breakfast burrito….and this reminds me a lot of what I had during my time there in 2018.

While Neno’s and other mexican gourmet places do justice, Montgomery Court threw me off because it’s open EARLY and labeled as a coffee shop which still sells southwestern type food as a meal. Neno’s obviously sells Mexican food butIf you’re looking for breakfast or coffee without waiting past 11AM, look no further. It really is significantly better than most breakfast burrito’s you may find at a proper diner.

Disclaimer I only drink decaf coffee so I may be missing out on what MC really has to offer for other coffee options…..but the staff had an extremely outgoing introduction and I appreciate them for their warm welcome.

The zoning laws initially put me off from visiting but it was really just convincing myself in getting up and going knowing there isn’t a ton of room to sit down....

Original review Possibly the worst customer service I’ve had in a while. I was excited to check out the new coffee shop in town, but was quickly deflated by the vibes from the staff. Rude might not be the right word. After finishing the previous customers drinks, I was stared at blankly. After a few awkward second of him looking at me in silence I asked if I could order. A nod, no words. I ordered and he, again without a word, made my drink. Upon finishing he places the drink on the counter while turning away without a word nor eye contact what so ever. The vibes were I don’t want to be here and I don’t want you to be here. No hi, no thank you, no nothing. If you want to compete with the 29 other coffee shops in town, then you’re going to have to make your costumers feels welcomed. My cappuccino was alright, I’d give it a 6.5 out of 10. This was my second visit. Both times I got an iced chai, because they use Chai guy chai. My friend was looking for a breakfast sandwich. As she was perusing the menu, we heard the staff say something about we're out of that. So my friend asked what are you out of? They said, oh just napkins (ok that is really weird). So she ordered a breakfast sandwhich (I think the one on a biscut) and then they said, oh we're out of that. Hmmm didn't we just ask you about that? So, she ordered another sandwich. And we made a point of saying we'll be outside, which they acknowledged (but didnt' indicate we'd need to come in to pick up the sandwich). After about 10 minutes, she went in, and sure enough it was sitting on the counter. The girl waiting on us was not very friendly or customer orientated. On a positive note, my friend said her sandwich was very good. But, I won't be rushing back, just not a positive...
