Romig's Tavern — Restaurant in City of Rochester

The food was amazing. The prices were great. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Update - A year later. We go here fairly often and sometimes its a hit or miss. This last time we went on a Saturday and they were busy but not to the point where we had to wait to get a seat. Sometimes you have to wait to get a seat if the bar is full and all the tables. We find that if you sit at the bar you get waited on faster.Well there was a new server we have never seen so we sat down at a table its just 2 of us and she comes over with some attitude and a demeanor like she didnt want to be serving us and asks us what we want to drink and we both get water and tell her we want to look at the beer menu for a minute so she walks away. We sat there for over 30 minutes for her to never come back to see what beer we wanted or food and keep in mind we always order the same food item everytime we go which she didnt know because we have never been waited on her before. She proceeds to wait on the rest of her table and the people who came in after us. She never even acknowledges us after she gave us our water. She walked by us several times. So it was about 45 min at that point so we walked out and left. I know what some of you are thinking well what if it was her first day or what if it was busy and it was busy but not nearly as packed as we have seen it before. She could have told us hey sorry about the wait ill be with you in a few minutes or anything to acknowledge us but she didnt at all. So if we return again which we will im sure because thats the only bad experience we have ever had and there prices and food are good and if we get the same waitress we will ask for another or find a seat at the...

For over a year we’ve been coming to romigs for their wings which always seems great! My gf and I decided to start the NFL season their this year & it was really disappointing. The owner really made not only us but other people feel uncomfortable like he was upset annoyed and frustrated. I understand during this time of COVID it’s important to follow rules but to yell at customers walking with no masks instead of politely asking isn’t a good reflection. They were also showing the Raiders game outside however with it being a rainy chilly afternoon to start we decided to sit inside. With literally no one around the area we asked if the game could go on the tv along with a couple other people who decided to watch it inside to & his exact response “I didn’t spend $1,000 for that tent outside for nothing” A. No one asked you to do that B. That’s not the tone or manner you should respond to C. Again another a example of yelling. It’s disappointing because we went to a couple games last year at Romigs that was fun but he really made us and others very uncomfortable. He’s very stern, direct, & doesn’t help around the kitchen, his staff, or his customers to check in or try to even smile. A couple of the waitresses were pretty rude to and by halftime, we left. Now I didn’t rate this a 1/5 because the chicken wings are good, they do have a good set up, along with the outdoor patio. I’d recommend getting a to go order, but this review isn’t much to show what I’ve shared today is true, just walk in & look at the owner who’s bald, heavy set, stern & if you don’t see him, well you sure will hear him when he gets annoyed. I tried to call to order some of the fifty cent wings today and When I call the number on google it says the voicemail box is full and it doesn’t even ring. I decided to show up and place an order, I walk in, go up to the counter and several mins pass and not one person who worked there acknowledged me. I then tried to ask one of the cooks (since there were no bartenders in sight) how I can place an order. He told me a bartender was around somewhere so I went to the bar where again I go un-acknowledged. I finally see a bartender to ask her and she had the worst attitude, very rude, and made me not even want to continue placing the order, if I wasn’t craving chicken wings I would have. If customer service is something you care for when going out to places and spending money there, I would not suggest wasting your money here. Its unfortunate bc the food is actually good but the service is so awful it makes me not even want to come here anymore. this isn’t the first time I have experienced this with the bartenders before, it’s been a while since I’ve been here, but obviously the service hasn’t changed. UPDATE 8/7/2020 came back for the dinner specials and I ordered a prime rib well done it come out like seven minutes later.the Mac n cheese taste like it’s been sitting since yesterday.you guys can do a lot better with the salad man com on jeez, you literally shaved a carrot. And chopped up like 4 black olives All in all my meal came up to 27 dollars deff not worth it lol....
