My recent visit to Tropics left me incredibly disappointed, as I encountered numerous issues that significantly impacted my overall experience. The club's slow service and unprofessional staff were the primary culprits, making it difficult to enjoy the night as I had hoped.
First and foremost, the bar service at Tropics was painfully slow, despite the venue being crowded. It was evident that the club was understaffed for the number of patrons present. The bar tenders appeared overwhelmed and struggled to keep up with the demand, resulting in long wait times for drinks. It was frustrating to stand in line for what felt like an eternity, only to be met with sluggish service. Tropics should have anticipated the crowd and ensured they had enough staff to handle the workload, but unfortunately, they fell short in this regard.
Moreover, the staff's lack of professionalism added to the disappointment of the evening. They seemed indifferent to the customers' needs and lacked the basic courtesy expected in a service-oriented industry. I encountered instances where staff members engaged in personal conversations among themselves, completely disregarding the patrons waiting to be served. This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction was both unprofessional and disrespectful.
Furthermore, the staff's overall demeanor was subpar. They lacked enthusiasm and failed to create a welcoming atmosphere. It felt as though they were merely going through the motions, without any genuine interest in providing a positive experience for the guests. Their disinterested and nonchalant attitude left a sour taste in my mouth, tarnishing the club's reputation further.
Overall, Tropics' inadequately staffed bar and unprofessional staff severely impacted my visit. Upon arrival at 1:30, we were greeted by a single female staff member who seemed to be handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously - taking orders, running the bar, and managing takeout orders. While it's commendable that she was managing these tasks alone, it ultimately impacted the efficiency of our dining experience.
The first issue arose when part of our order arrived at 2:50, a substantial delay considering we had been waiting for over an hour. Even more frustrating was the fact that it took an additional hour for us to be informed that they did not have the dhal puri, a dish we had been eagerly anticipating. It begs the question of why it took so long for them to notify us about the unavailability of this item.
When the food finally arrived, it was served promptly after the extended wait. However, the quality of the drinks was severely lacking. The drinks we ordered seemed watered down, leaving us with a disappointing and unsatisfying taste. This aspect of the dining experience certainly requires improvement.
In terms of service, it was evident that additional staff members were needed to handle the workload. The lone female staff member seemed overwhelmed and unable to provide attentive service to all the guests. This resulted in delays, incorrect orders, and an overall lack of attention to detail.

I recently ordered food for delivery and someone from the store called and said they're actually not doing delivery that day so we had to go pick up the food ourselves. I was told that the delivery fee and the tip would be refunded since no delivery was made but the person lied multiple times about refunding the tip and robbed me. I reached out to the ChowNow ordering app on June 28th to better handle the situation, it is now July 9th and the restaurant has completely ignored them. Don't want to do your job but you want to steal the money for it.
EDIT: I did call the restaurant, TWICE, and was told the same thing both times, that the tip refund was sent when it was not. It is not the customer's responsibility to make sure a refund was processed. I contacted ChowNow support on June 28th after I was told I would be receiving my refund and never did. Their response was "Thank you for waiting. I tried calling the restaurant multiple times, but they were not responsive. Don't worry, I'll send them an email about your refund request. I will personally work on your refund request and ensure to coordinate this issue with our restaurant partner. May I get back to you via email after we get their response?" Contacted them again on July 1st and their response "Thank you. The previous representative manage to send the refund request but as of this moment we are still waiting for the restaurant's response." followed by "Please do allow more time for our restaurant partner to respond. For the meantime, is there anything else I can help you with?" so I waited a week and still NOTHING.
