I usually don’t like leaving reviews but I’ve stopped coming here and it’s sad because the fact that this is closer to me but I’d rather travel to Nottingham plaza because of more kindness and better customer service is crazy.
If it wasn’t for the the two ladies, one I believe is the mom and the other the manager, and the young guy whose usually behind the cash register this place would be completely horrible. The others I’ve ran into (mainly they Asian girl, black girl with glasses and one other) sometimes stare at you without asking what would you like and will even walk away so they don’t have to take your order, and will even hand over your food like they are upset. I can say thank you and not get a response.
And what’s worse is I’ve heard customers at the Nottingham plaza location, express that this location is closer , but they still travel to their location because of the better customer service.
But again if it wasn’t for the other three workers I’ve ran into with great customer service this place would...
Read moreI lived in New York City so I know what a good bagel is. These are the best in Syracuse and the coffee is very good. Try a two-egg, sausage, and cheese breakfast sandwich on your favorite bagel and you'll become a devoted customer. They also serve great lunch sandwiches, and try out the chocolate brownie. Patty is an outstanding manager. She hires and trains good people who provide efficient and friendly service. If you call ahead to order a dozen bagels to go, you can request that they dip both sides in the topping. UPDATE-1: Patty has moved to the Nottingham store but this site still runs efficiently. Most of the bagels are now double dipped without having to make a request. UPDATE-2: Hard to believe, but they no longer provide salt and pepper packets to season your sandwich. Also, the ordering system has changed resulting in a somewhat hectic, slower process for the customer, but requiring less personnel thereby increasing profits for the company. Decreased my rating from...
Read moreIt's been awhile since my last visit. The dining room is closed because of COVID but they're open for takeout. The bagels seem quite a bit smaller and slightly less dense but look beautiful, good variety and taste excellent. The new menu seems a bit transformed to focus on bagel sandwiches rather than classic bagels and flavored spreads. Of course that ups the retail purchase price. While the pastrami combo was very tasty, it had like 1 slice of pastrami. For the same price not far away I could have gotten a massive 2 meal pastrami sandwich. I'd reconsider any sandwich purchase here and would hesitate calling them classic NY bagels, but they're close. Stick to the bagel and cream cheese with coffee and let's hope the dining room opens soon to be able to have a seat and leisurely...
