Recess Coffee Tipperary Hill — Restaurant in City of Syracuse

I live close to this location, so it makes it hard not to keep trying it out. I've been there 4 times, but there's been an issue every time. Usually the customer service is just far below average. As in not interested in serving the customer at all. This time my cashier was friendly, nice job reading google reviews ! However, my order has been wrong 3 of 4 times there. The prices, WOW. Its like being in Manhattan without leaving the gray ghettos littered holes of cuse! So when you charge $4 plus for a single bagel with butter, it should be toasted at the least. No problem, it happens. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich, this took a while to enter into the register, but we got it right. Sadly, this and my last breakfast sandwich we're both completely just not even related to what I ordered, besides both being food. Oh and their coffee is one of the more acidic brews around. These issues along with prices and angry service, lengthly and angry, obviously I won't be back. How hard is it to do the ONLY JOB YOU...

I fell in love with the Recess Coffee in Westcott, and one day I happened to look for one closer to where I was — and I was so surprised to find this gem of a place. When I tell you the sandwiches here are on another level, I mean it — even compared to the other Recess locations or any coffee shop in the area.

I’m originally from the city, and I can always appreciate the hell out of a good bagel sandwich — this spot makes it with love every single time. The customer service is incredible — super personable — and they even suggested I try my usual chai latte with cinnamon and added lavender. Oh my gosh… life-changing! I’m never going back to my old order.

They’ve definitely got a customer for life. The atmosphere is beautiful, cozy, and so much more spacious than other coffee shops around. It’s the perfect spot to sit down, get some work done, or just enjoy the vibe. I absolutely love it here, and I’m sure anyone who stops...

Specifically the Tipp Hill location. We just moved to the westend and have designated this as our coffee spot.

Today, there was a woman in front of us who didn't really love her coffee. Sean went above and beyond and asked how he could make it better, change it up, add something or making her something different to make sure she was happy. But she was a miserable human and left .. (bad on her part)

I have always, always had nothing but amazing coffee, food and atmosphere every time I go. The consistency is my favorite part.

Lastly and most importantly, let's talk about how the staff is nothing but exceptional. Always telling us what's fresh or new, their likes and current favorites. It's great to know that our neighborhood coffee shop is so welcoming and oh so delicious.
