Mangia Macrina's had zeroed in on exactly what they do, and they do it very well. They make small (basically single serve) wood fired pizzas. They are everything you could hope. Light, crispy crust with just enough chew, topped by a nice selection of cheese, sauce, and an interesting selection of meat and vegetable options. They have a set menu, with dozens of options, and they do add and retire options periodically. Prices are good for what you get, typically in the$18-20 range per pizza. One pizza will comfortably feed an adult with a slice or two leftover. Sharing one between two diners may leave you wanting a little more. However, they do offer a couple of other items, including some salad options. I would be remiss if I did not mention the sauteed mushroom appetizer (served with seasoned flatbread) and the meatball sliders. The latter are spectacular, but go quick so order early. All in all, a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with excellent food and an excellent selection of beers. I...

The Buffalo Mozzarella Margherita was everything a classic should be—simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. But the real star of the show for me was the Korean BBQ Pizza with shaved ribeye. The combination of tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef, a rich and smoky gochujang sauce, and the subtle nuttiness of sesame oil took it to another level. Every bite was packed with bold, perfectly balanced flavors—I could have easily eaten five of them and still wanted more.
You can tell they take pride in their craft, from the perfect char on the crust to the thoughtful use of high-quality ingredients. Every pizza that came out of their wood-fired oven was a work of art.
I’m already looking forward to my next visit. If you haven’t been yet, run—don’t walk—to Mangia Macrina. This place is...
Read moreMangia Macrina hosted my rehearsal dinner, and I cannot give them enough positive feedback. My wife and I have been coming here since they opened in their original location and have loved every single pizza they've ever made for us (and trust me, we've had a lot of their pizzas). They truly have the most authentic Neapolitan-style pizza in the Utica area, and it was an easy choice to have them host our rehearsal dinner.
From the beginning, Chris was responsive and offered us multiple meal packages for our party of about 30 people. When our party arrived, Steve was in charge, and his work ethic was impressive. He consistently checked in on every single person, and even my family commented on his energy and outgoing personality. Additionally, all of the staff were eager to please and just fantastic all-around.
In short, Mangia Macrina has two more lifelong...
