Pizzeria Italia — Restaurant in City of Utica

OMG! I can’t express enough my excitement upon discovering this business!

Typically whenever the fam wants pizza & wings it involves ordering and picking up from multiple places to accommodate the regular pizza eaters as well as my mom and I being gluten free. Over the past ten years ordering a decent gf pizza out has been mostly a meh experience.

Tonight I googled “best gf pizza in utica” and happened upon a review stating that Pizzeria Italia’s gluten free crust was “thick & flavorful” (thick AND flavorful?!🤤😍). I went on to read reviews about their regular pizza & wings being amazing as well so I looked up their menu and found that they also offer GF Greens, Regular/Buffalo Chicken Tenders & Fries, Pasta dishes such as Eggplant Parm, Chicken Parm, & Chicken/Shrimp Riggies (🤯🤯🤯). Had to hold myself back from ordering one of everything so we went with a Lg Pizza & 30 wings, a GF Pizza which was a FULL 12 inches(!!!) & an order of GF greens. They let us split the order to try different sauces so we went with med-hot & Red Chili 🌶 🤤.

To top it off, during pickup I was told that they actually make the GF Pizza dough in house, use designated space to avoid cross contamination, as well as designated fryers 😭 #bless 🙏🏼 These people get it!

Everything was delicious! The pizzas were absolutely picture perfect, the camera had to eat first haha. The wings were the ideal amount of crispy, nice and saucy without even having to ask, 10/10 totally recommend! Super appreciative for having so many options, and going the extra mile! We recently had take out from Pizzeria Italia as a family, and as someone who is gluten-free, I was blown away by their menu options. They truly go above and beyond for gluten-free customers — from homemade breaded chicken tenders to chicken parm, multiple gluten-free pizza choices, chicken wings, cakes, and so much more.

I even tried a local specialty, Utica greens, which they made completely gluten-free and loaded with flavorful pepperoni and salami. Everything was fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care.

The customer service here is absolutely out of this world. From the first phone call to placing the order, all the way to pick-up, the staff was warm, friendly, and attentive. While the space is mainly set up for takeout (there’s not really a dine-in area), they do such a great job of making the whole process smooth and welcoming that you don’t miss sitting down there.

Pizzeria Italia is a hidden gem for anyone — but especially for those who are gluten-free and tired of limited, boring options. This place proves you can have incredible flavor and variety...

This was our first visit. We decided to try Pizzaria Italia based on numerous Facebook reviews as well as some friend anecdotes. The pizza was extremely tasty: plenty of cheese, a nice sauce, generous toppings and a crispy, flavorful, crust. The wings were enormous! Very nicely cooked (we always order extra crispy) with a thick BBQ sauce on half and a nice medium on the other half. The sides of Bleu cheese were also great: some places try to blend with ranch or add seasonings but for our house we prefer the nice original without any garnishment.The price was great for the large 2 topping and 30 wing special we ordered.
