Chef Mikes Kitchens and Market — Restaurant in City of Watertown

Edit- Almost a week ago exactly, my family and I ate here (my originally review below). All my stars were 5's, but today that changes to what you see now. First, a message to the owner, if your job makes you a cranky miserable unlikeable person get a new job. Now, to the review. Today was hot, and we really wanted something that felt like home, the south. We ordered a lot because the food was so amazing last time. The waitress Lacey was an absolute gem. There was our food and 2 others after us that I knew of. We get our food and headed home. We accidently received a double of something, and were missing 1 item. I call the store, a man answers, I explain, he brushes me off and hands the phone to Lacey. I explained again, she apologized and told Mike. I hear her whisper, "I don't know what to say, what do you want me to do," and this man reams into her "well I guess I gotta remake the food. You messed up giving them the wrong thing... blah blah blah. " Seriously, my guy, shit happens. After he went off on her I felt so bad I told her that I was sorry for getting her in trouble. Fast forward, my spouse goes to get the missing food, and the guy who got ours was returning it (nice guy). While there he asked if he could get 2 things of bbq sauce. Simple question, right... WRONG. Mike proceeds to belittle this customer in front of everyone. "While why didn't you do that online!" The customer "sorry, I messed up and forgot", Mike "yeah you did! You're supposed to do that online. You think I can just go around giving away free food. If I just continue to do that, I won't have a business anymore." You guys, the side of bbq was 95 fricking cents. Like, are you kidding. I'll give you 5 bucks to stop being a douche. His anger showed in the cooking, too. Ribs were dry, burgers burnt, fries unsalted. My family will not be returning. Lacey, if you see this, you deserve better. No one deserves to be belittled and talked down to like that or embarrassed when it happens in front of others. If the other customer sees this, I'm also sorry as well. You didn't deserve that either. Mike, you are an embarrassment. Do better.

Original review" I truly can not remember when I had food this amazing. I kinda want to eat slower to savor it. I stopped eating to come on here and make this review. The mac salad needs more salt n pepper, and the mac n cheese needs a smidge more cheese, but those are so minor compared to how absolutely amazing the burgers were. My son specifically said he can't live without the fries. Long story short, Chef Mike, you need to get used to me and my family because you are officially my go-to spot!! 3 meals, 1 appetizer, one upgraded side, and 1 extra side for $60. We placed a huge order and everything was delivered in only about 35 minutes. It was all outstanding and this is our new favorite place. The BBQ pork sandwiches were so good that we ate them before we thought to get pictures. The portions were so huge that we couldn’t finish them and also the pork was very tender. The chicken tenders and Mac n cheese were loved by all, though the kids didn’t appreciate just how good the Mac n cheese actually was. My husband loved the jalapeno corned bread because it was cakey and just enough sweetness. My friend loved the Mac salad and raved about the cheesecake. The piece of chocolate cake was so massive it was shared by 3 kids!! It was so moist and tasted homemade. My favorite was the mashed potatoes because I’ve never had such light and creamy potatoes with such a light and delicious flavor! The salad and coleslaw was fresh and crunchy. We didn’t have anything that was less than amazing. We plan to try their burgers and ribs next. We highly recommend them to anyone who loves food that tastes like it took hours to prepare in massive portions for a very reasonable price. Generous portions, great pricing and if you need something quick, why not? I have to say the cornbread was to die for! The ribs were good, but not outstanding. The Mac and cheese had a lot of Mac and not a lot of cheese making it blend. I’d suggest upping the charge in the side item like other spots and adding cheese. The fries were normal fries but well fried. I gave a 5 to the atmosphere because the chef was wearing g two different colored socks and I love his uniqueness to include the singing. What a character. I was not bothered by the Lack of the stupid hair nets or the lack of gloves. Everything was clean so lady chill out. Do you cook with gloves and hair net at home? Please...
