Took a walk here but expected a longer trail. This is a nice park to eat lunch or sit and look at the river. There are a few park benches facing the river and a covered pavilion with picnic tables and a large barbecue grill. There is a path leading south after the boat house but it only goes a few hundred feet until it just ends. I was hoping it would continue further.
This is the northern end of the Mohawk Hudson Bike Trail. There is a bike stand for CDPHP Cycle which is the Capital Region’s bike-share connection. You can rent an Peddle bike or an E-bike in theory but there were only two peddle bikes at this location when I was there on a quiet Monday afternoon. There is a bike repair stand with tools and a pump.
The park has a bathroom building which was closed for the season, but there was a porta-potty. There is a water pump near the southern end of the pavilion but no signage about the water quality. There are four double EV charges allowing for eight EVs to charge.
For children there are a few areas with playground accessories to walk on, climb on and even to...

Based on that specific experience, I give the park the overall rating of 3. The infrastructure funds bound for this community could help boost the rating further if they are targeted for needed improvements. There is also a ChargePoint station in the park, but I still have a gasoline-only car and have not been...
Read moreOut of all the parks in Watervliet, this one is my favorite. I've gone here a lot over the years and from the rocky road to the smooth one with trails, the added playground equipment and swing benches, I've watched it improve. I'm so glad this park has become a cute one. It's too bad the restaurant is gone 💔
There is a pavilion that has a big grill here and there are smaller grills and picnic tables. Some people choose to fish here, so you can do that as well. You'll also find a lot of ducks and geese and the...
