Rooster's Market — Restaurant in City of White Plains

I’m writing this review because I’m sick and tired of being treated poorly in roosters market. The employees there are only nice when they want to be. One time I had went in and the guy who was taking my order, just kept rolling his eyes at me and giving me attitude and I had a pretty big order so I’d expect him to write something down but no he didn’t and he ended up getting my order wrong and when I told him no, this isn’t my order he kept on insisting and insisting that’s what I order but how are you gonna tell me what I did and didn’t order and he wouldn’t listen to me until my dad had to come in and only then did they make my order right. That same man who took my order looks at me weird every time I come in the store and it just makes me uncomfortable. I can honestly say that only two of the deli workers actually are respectful and make sandwiches good because food doesn’t taste a good when it’s made with a side of attitude . I always get weird looks especially by the women. Another time I had come in with my friend and there was a worker by the door who kept looking at us weird like we were stealing something I have never stolen anything in my life, and I would especially not steal in a little market. Another time this younger chubby white chick wouldn’t let me in. I was telling her why can’t I and she said do you want me to bring my owner out here? I’ve never had a problem coming into that store up until that day idk if it’s bc she white and I’m not or what. It’s very unfortunate that I feel this way because the food is actually pretty decent and it’s a nice local spot. It’s just the employees that make the experience bad. I’ve looked through the poorly rated reviews and they all pretty much say the same thing that the food is good but the employees are rude and the owners response is like I understand how you feel but we also have bad days but how do you have a bad day every single time I go in and it’s not like I’m a rude person because I’m respectful I always say please and thank you. I’ve never raised my voice, I just simply go and get a sandwich so I don’t understand why I was getting treated that way and I’ve tried calling the owner Willy a couple days before making this review to maybe get an explanation or something but they kept saying oh he’s not in right now he’s not in right now. I ordered a breakfast sandwich. For the most part, it was a good sandwich. But the attention I got was very, very poor. I started by ordering the sandwich and had to repeat myself three times because the person taking the order was too busy talking to somebody behind a counter than to pay an attention to me. Truly, at this point, I just wanted to walk out. Waiting for my sandwich. I noticed other people was handed their orders in their hands. When it came to me, he just placed the sandwich right on top for me to just take it, not even told anything. Call out the sandwich name and just left it there. As I make my way to the front of the counter, there are two sides to the counter. Has this been my first time i'm just standing in front of the counter on the right side. Waiting to pay. As these two ladies went around me and placed the order there on the left side of the counter. And was attended to immediately. After they finish paying, I grab my things without being told to come on up. I placed it on the left side of the counter and just was asked cash a card. Not even the greetings of good morning was said to me. I noticed the ladies before me.We're given very nice treatment. As I finish paying, I say thank you.She immediately looks to her left and says, "Sweetheart, come on down to the gentleman right behind me, ready to pay." I was never treated so disgustingly in a very long time, in this manner. I ate the sandwich, just because I worked all night in the hospital.I needed something to eat. Sad to say, I didn't enjoy it. Super disappointed over the last few months. Staff and service is inconsistent. For example: I order the same thing every time I come in. Roast beef, cheddar, lettuce and tomato on a round roll. $11. Fine. The amount of roast beef on the sandwich is LESS than 1/4 lb (which I’ve weighed on my food scale so I know I wasn’t going crazy), when the roast beef is $15.99/lb… how is that justifiable? A roll, shredded lettuce, tomato are all dirt cheap especially when ordered in bulk. I’ve worked in the food/bev industry for 15 years. Anyone knows how cheap those items are.

I came in this morning and asked for my normal roast beef sandwich, with EXTRA roast beef, which I obviously knew would be an up charge and got such little roast beef, that I was furious. The guy who made my sandwich also winked at me when he handed me the sandwich. I will not be returning, nor some of my coworkers. There are plenty of other delis in the area. I love their roast beef too, which is such a shame. I hope you guys get your act together.
