Three stars is mostly due to the misnomer. And the onions. The restaurant definitely isn't a beer garden and probably shouldn't have "beer" in its name with only 4 draft lines and a dearth of craft beer selections (the non-macro available on our visit was one draft and one can, both from Yonkers Brewing).
The space itself seems like it was an Italian restaurant in the mid-nineties and is now confused about its identity. The dining room features Italian-esque balconies and faux marble... and sombreros. The bathrooms? Shamrocks. The menu? A bit from each column.
We ordered and received a solidly mediocre quesadilla, okay nachos, a passable chicken sandwich, and decent "Irish bangers" (which were closer to breakfast sausages) served with quite good mashed potatoes and the worst caramelized onions I've ever had the displeasure of consuming. They were literally sauteed white onions with added sugar. Yikes.
Staff were nice but somewhat inattentive and they do have a garden area, though you need to walk through their kitchen to get there.
Maybe we'll give them another chance if they bring in some good beer and find...
Read moreI've come here once before & my experience was great! Which is why I give the food 5 stars. The owner even came and checked on us, she was so sweet! So I thought this time around I would come here with my family for some food. We walked in at 11:27 and we took a seat to which the bartender (an older gentleman) came over and asked if we were ready to order but we weren't given menus. He then handed us menus and proceeded to attend another table who walked in right after us. He got them their drinks & even rang in their food. I have also worked in the restaurant industry so l can understand maybe he was a little backed up, to which I could understand but 25 min with no drinks is a bit excessive!!! We then asked if he could take our order and he said "give me one minute, I'm ringing in this order." We said okay & then he finally came over at 11:53 when we decided to just leave & he proceeded to say "okay great, better for me". Very unfortunate because I was looking forward to showing my family a good...
Read moreWhat a delightful brunch! Me, my mother, and grandmother came for a casual brunch around 1pm on Sunday. It was quiet and comfortable. Our waitress, Bita, was so welcoming and positive. Her smile was contagious and she helped us pick out our orders with her suggestions.
I had ordered a Blueberry Muffin Latte from the menu and Bita promptly informed me they were out of the blueberry puree but offered to make it with raspberry. It was great!
For food, I got the veggie omelet with irish sausage, my mom got the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, and my nana got a bacon and cheese omelette. All of our meals were serviced with yummy home fries. Both omelets were full of fresh ingredients. My mom was very satisfied with her sandwich. Portions and prices were great.
For their brunch offerings, they offered bottomless drinks with brunch for $19.95. We did not take on this offer but I would definitely come back to try it! My nana is very interested in coming back for bingo. We will certainly...
