Yesterday my Son and I stopped at the Fun Box of Cross County and was approached by teenagers or super young adults as I entered the empty line to pay. They saw me looking at the waiver and the advanced pay option and informed me that they can just pay with them, and there was no need to pay online.
This makes sense as that was one less step to get my son in the door and have some fun. The two teenagers was a tall girl and a shorter guy in a grey hoodie. They quickly rambled off the fees $20 cash or $20-something for card. I opted for card. The young guy quickly entered some numbers on his personal phone and put it on top of the stripe machine. I tapped to pay with my phone and I didn’t think twice of it until we entered and realized I needed socks. I went back to him after entering and asked to purchase a pair. He grabbed me a pair and used the stripe device to take the payment.
I immediately realized something was up. The $5 came out immediately for socks. But the $20 has not come out. I was neither asked about the waiver. I felt uneasy while trying to enjoy the time with my son. He sadly did not have fun, the bouncy houses was way to big for him and I wish the obstacle course hinted it was for bigger kids - I don’t recommend for toddlers.
In our way out I still felt uneasy. I called my husband to validate my feelings - he works in Anti money laundering and insisted I ask more questions and turned off my card/ request a new one. I went back to the gentleman after initially leaving and asked why he used another phone to take entrance payment and the stripe device for socks. He said it was the same thing and sometimes the stripe machine acted funny. He proceeded to show me the same app on his iPhone after scrolling thought multiple apps meaning it was not the most recent app he used and it was clearly a personal device because cash app and social media apps were open. Not trying to make a scene I left it at that.
Of course later on that day I get a suspicious charge for $400+ to my card which Chase caught!! Can’t believe Fun Box has employees managing this business in such a way. Shame on you. I will make sure this gets all the way up...
Read moreI came here yesterday with my 1 yr old and husband. It was a pleasant experience and I was content with the experience. We booked the first session at 10:30am, therefore there were not that many families about 20-30. Given that its 25k sq feet it kinda felt empty which was nice in case you dont want to feel overwhelmed. First off there are 3 giant bouncy houses and 1 toddler bouncy house. There is an area where you can place your shoes for safe keeping. There is also an area where you can leave your stroller or wagon which is guarded by staff. There is an area with tables and chairs in case you wanna take a breather. There is NO food ONLY water bottles for $3 dollars and snow cones for $6 dollars. There is a loud speaker playing music, not vulgar more like pop music. The restroom area consists of about 4- 5 porta pottys, and a seperate sink area where you can wash up at. The staff is wonderful, near every bouncy house in case you need help or guidance. It's very easy to find a staff member given that they are all over. You STILL have to watch your own child/ children, these kind staff members are not your own personal babysitters. (I saw a lot of comments criticizing the staff members for not regulating the children) They are YOUR child/ children NOT the staff members. I am currently pregnant and even tho I could not jump I walk as much as I could. I would definitely go back and I believe they will be located there until November. Another plus side is, it's located in the mall area therefore after you finish you can grab a bite with the family or go shopping. Great location and such a wonderful experience. Thank you Funbox, see you...
Read moreI was asked to write a review so, here it goes.
I bought tickets in advance which I thought would make getting it easier but after we were stamped we were still on line for awhile. Waiting on line was painful because the music was so loud. Most kids waiting on line were covering their ears.
After we got in we put our shoes away. Shoe area smells like vomit so I had to turn my head and hold my breath to retrieve our shoes on the way out.
We were warned in advance that the park would be "a little wet'" due to the rain but that was an understatement. There were pools of water in many areas so we didn't explore every area we wanted to. My son and I only lasted about 20 minutes due to this
All in all, would I bring my son back? Actually, yes. I was miserable but he had a good time and wants to go back. If I went for myself I would be furious but it was for my son so it was worth it. I messaged an individual by the name of Amir M. about possibly coming back on a day its not wet so my son can back for the 40 minutes we missed but no response unfortunately.
EDIT: The message I sent in my first review was answered and I was given a coupon code to return to Funbox. The experience we had today was so different compared to our first. It wasn't soaking wet and my son and I were able to appreciate the attraction more. No loud music blasting and no line. We went during the morning time slot so it wasn't flooded with people and we...
