We were excited to try this Portuguese "Seafood" restaurant. I ordered the stuffed lobster. The stuffing was fine, but the lobster was totally rotten!! It was black with dried up rotten meat and large holes in the crumbling shell. It looked like lobster cancer. The owner apologized but said that "it happens when you keep the lobsters in the refrigerator for a few days." Really??
The owner said, "We got lobsters fresh on Thursday." Well, tonight is Sunday- three days later! No wonder they were rotten! So here are the issues:
I wasn't going to write this review, but I decided to, because I think it is disgraceful to serve OLD rotten seafood in a place that advertises itself as a seafood establishment! The seafood should be 100% fresh & lobsters should be alive until cooked! - I left thoroughly nauseous! Yes. The owner was nice and didn't make us pay for our meal, but shame on him for thinking that it's okay to serve nearly 4-day old dead lobster!! I guess there's a reason why there's not a single positive restaurant endorsement on face of the restaurant: NO Zagat, NO Best of Westchester, NO nothing!! Eat at...
Read moreStain galore on dropped ceilings .. food was mediocre though generous servings if that's what is important to u ... The waiter wrote in a 20% tip !!! We were 2 people ... I told him I agree to 20% however he figured 20% on taxes as well!!! He cheapish smiled as if he knew both actions were wrong ... Then he brings back the bill to be signed providing a choice of additional tip to the 20% he wrote in ... another 15% 18% or 20% tip to be filled in by the distracted client !!! Also he had told us a particular bottle of wine was $22 and bill reflected $28 ... When I inquired, he unapologetically stated with a straight face ... Yes, it's $28 . .. be very careful .. this particular server is not Portuguese but Hispanic and was not to be trusted at the end .. triple check your bill with this guy .. we do not recommend this restaurant... Looks run down outside and a bit inside with less than trusted billing 3 stars are given out of not knowing how much the owner is aware of...
Read moreThis place is an awesome local spot. I stopped in for a beer and ended up getting chouriço to go just to try it. Thought I'd make some easy sandwiches when I got home. And bro. I tried chouriço a bunch of times thinking that sausage is good and the region is well-known for pork, I thought eventually I'd find chouriço that was moist and delicious instead of dry and salty. I had to move back to NY to find that here in Yonkers. Cant wait to go back and try...
