Decent food, but prepare to burn some significant time waiting.
Iâll start of by saying the food is really decent, but for some reason it seems to take a lifetime to prepare. Not to minimize efforts here, but I still cannot fathom why it takes 15-20 minutes for a breakfast sandwich. Knowing the two main short comings to this establishment (rarely an open table and the time to get food is substantial), I decided to try the online ordering service. Unfortunately this seems to be yet another short coming of the Barn Cafe. We placed our order this morning and was given a ready time of 10:13am (approx. 20 mins from the time of order), we arrived at 10:15 and was told it would be another 5-10 minutes. All in all we didnât end up leaving until 10:35; a whopping 42mins for two egg sandwiches and two coffees⊠Iâm sincerely hoping to see the management team take this feedback into consideration and improve the overall experience.
Update: after reading the rebuttal from the Owner, I feel as the point has been missed. If the average person that uses the online service shows up 15-30 mins late, I donât think itâs fair to punish those of us that show up within our time window by not starting our order until we arrive at the cafe. At that point, if you cannot show up on time, you donât exactly have a leg to stand on if your food isnât 20mins fresher. As you said there are many things at play and ultimately time management needs to be considered as part of the balance. Freshness above all else doesnât fly if you are on a set schedule and cannot afford to waste 30 minutes waiting on your food order (speaking specifically about using the online order service). If the times allotted are not accurate to your ability to have food ready, then adjust them to reflect your capabilities⊠donât decide for me that Iâm going to have to wait, because most people show up late. Iâm going to give your guys a couple of more chances, but ultimately will give up if things do...
Read moreThe Barn Café is hands-down the best breakfast (served till 10:30am), lunch, and Pastry/coffee spot to stop in to pick up a quick bite or sit down inside or out and have your order brought to your table. Their ingredients being sourced locally is a huge selling point, but the portions and quality of those ingrédients, coupled with the friendliness and extremely helpful, courteous and personability of the entire staff is, in this reviewers opinion, a height of quality that others in the area should visit to observe and endeavor to attain for their own establishments.
I have never had even a "just okay" meal, pastry, dessert, or coffee from The Barn, and their employees sterling service and positive attitudes toward their clientĂšle both in and outside the workplace in their community easily elevates the mood and spirits of those they encounter.
Big things come in small packages indeed. An all around (and well-rounded, if I may say so) pleasure, would be how I would sum up the experience that is The Barn Café, in Claremont, NH.
It's location is extremely convenient, being right downtown; a brief walk can take you to all the little shops and boutiques downtown, but coffee and a homemade doughnut, pastry, or hot breakfast first! It's the most perfect pit stop I have ever encountered.
If there aren't any spaces in front of the restaurant; don't fret and don't just keep driving! It's worth turning into the parking garage located directly across from the restaurant, that offers free city parking and taking the few extra steps to cross the threshold of this amazingly delicious, welcoming, happy and relaxing...
Read moreClean, friendly staff, quick service, and tasty food. I wish they had breakfast after 10:30, as I am not an early riser, but all the sandwiches I have eaten there have been wonderful. I was in there today, and some super rude people, a young couple just strolled in, right past the clearly posted "No pets" sign on the door with their pet dog in tow. Why are so many dog people so incredibly inconsiderate, and entitled? Your dog doesn't belong in restaurants, or any food establishment, thankfully, someone on the staff was kind enough to remind them of their no pets policy, asking them to please remove the animal, and I am very grateful for that. I would have preferred that they had done that before the rude guests were allowed to order, and get served, but at least those people hopefully won't be bringing their dog into that restaurant again, ugh, what is wrong with people? Stop trying to make dogs everywhere a thing, it's not going to happen, and it's super rude to assume it is acceptable to bring your pet into any business, especially one that sells food. Anyways, the headline is, good food, clean, enjoyable atmosphere, quick service, and friendly, attentive staff, who graciously dealt with some super...
