Oklahoma Pizza Company — Restaurant in Claremore

With the excitement of a new pizza place in town comes the expectation of mind-blowing and unique flavors that set the Oklahoma Pizza Company apart from the other pizza joints in Claremore. Today, we got the red line and a bbq chicken (they forgot the bbq) pizzas, which came to the total of about $21. After getting them home, the presentation of the pizzas in their boxes can be measured as standard presentation, as nothing was done to make first initial impression rememberable when compared to other pizza places in the area. The toppings were on the lighter side and looked rather average when compared to frozen pizzas you can buy in the freezer section of the super market. After taking the first bite of both pizzas, it was immediately noticeable on how uncrust-like the crust was. I would describe the crust of having a more “doughy” consistency rather than being actually crust-like. The flavors were average and tasted pleasant and didn’t let down our taste buds. I would say overall, the pizza itself was average to below average in terms of being a local, non chain pizza joint. The experience of the whole ordeals felt underwhelming and a letdown of the worthiness of having the name “Oklahoma Pizza Company.” I understand it’s new and that there will be growing pains, but with the reputation of the owner and his other successes, perhaps more time should be spent on the actual food and making it stand above the competition. I did an Uber eats order for pickup at 630pm. I showed up at 7pm. I told the girl at the register that I had an order for pickup. She said, well, I dont have anything. I said it was for Uber eats and tried to show her the receipt. She said, well, I have nothing for you. She then said, "when he gets back, I'll ask him if he put it somewhere or already gave it away. " I said, what do you mean?! I'm showing you that I ordered and paid for it, why can't you just make it?! I don't know who , "he" is. I came here for a Saturday evening bite before church. There were about 8 people in front of me but the staff was able to take orders and serve food quickly. Pizzas are custom built before you and then cooked to order.
