On Wednesdays-Saturdays check out 'Bad Apple', from 1500hrs. This is a small, CASH ONLY intimate Juke Joint that is TOTALLY worth the admission/ cover of $10 with beers at $5. This is a 1 man band, 3 hour "Delta Blues live music, history, chat and laughs" experience, all given by Sean 'Bad Apple'! What characters Sean and his lovely girlfriend, Jessica, are... SO friendly, welcoming and great company! He had 4 in the audience, including us on the Wed afternoon, so we had the pleasure of a truly intimate Blues experience with the added bonus of 'Little' Joe McLaren and Lucius Spiller playing and singing too. That evening they were scheduled to play at Hambones too. Whilst there, an Aussie guy walked in and was welcomed. However, he either genuinely had no cash and when directed to an ATM, got lost coming back; OR he walked in and decided he didn't like the place or didn't want to pay the $10 for the 2½-3 hours of entertainment? Whatever the reason for his non-return, it was his loss as he truly missed out on a memorable experience! DO NOT BE PUT OFF by the external appearance and black door... This venue is small, it is hot inside and is Cash Only but SO well worth the visit! Don't be shy, if it's after 1500hrs just open that door and you WILL be welcomed for an afternoon of history and blues music! And, if you open the door and decide it's not for you when you walk in, say so, be honest and move on... Easy👍🏼😁 We came with the intention of visiting Ground Zero but can you believe we never went in as, in the end, we felt the places we did visit and the people we met gave us a real feel for what Clarksdale...
Read moreAbsolutely Amazing Experience! This is why we came to Clarksdale - authentic blues and history! Well we found the experience of a lifetime right here with Sean "Bad" Apple !
We rolled into Clarksdale on a Thursday excited about the museum and Ground Zero and Cat Head of course , but we found Soo much more to be excited about - we saw his sign for live music from 3-6 outside of his location next door to Cathead - Bad Apple Blues and Arts Center , and decided to stop and let me tell you, it was the best decision..
Sean is a one man band, historian, story teller , comedian and one hell of a blues musician . We learned, we laughed and left wanting more !
We now have a new appreciation for the blues , for the great men and women of blues , we shall go home and listen to our blues albums with a new understanding of the styles and sounds .
Go to Clarksdale, go to either of Bad Apple's locations - you will not regret it - This is priceless!
Thank you Sean, we can't wait to come back!
A MUST DO IN CLARKSDALE - BEST OF THE BEST !!

Read moreWe'd only been in Clarksdale for a few hours when some newly-made friends walked us over to the Bad Apples Blues Club. It was midday, on a hot n muggy delta summer day. There's no better respite from the day heat than Sean Apple's matinee blues review from 3pm-6pm. Sean is a one-man-band-host-bar tender-whatever else showman of the highest caliber. His narration tells an incredible story, with his guitar and percussion giving authentic personifications of Clarksdale's blues legends. Throughout the showcase, he keeps the audience engaged with lots of interactive banter, laughs. We felt right at home and loved every minute of it. I can't wait to share this place with friends. One thing- it's cash only, with no ATM on site, so come prepared. The show is a great value at $10. Cold beer is $5 a can. If you sleep on this, you'll rob yourself of a wonderful, one of a kind...
