Since moving here from Arizona, I've been trying to find a good Mexican food place. While this place isn't bad, it's not as good as I'd hoped. The salsa is tasty, if a little mild for my tastes; the guacamole is delicious, but I did find two pieces of avocado skin in it - again, it tasted great, so... there's balance, lol. I had the steak (asada as they called it, but I thought asada meant meat?) chimichanga - also not great, but not terrible. I don't know what sauce-type thing they smothered it with, I'm assuming some sort of cheese sauce (freaking why? and that seems to be the usual out here - I don't get it, just eww), I did not like it at all - if I order this again, I will tell them no sauce topper. I'm used to chimis topped only with guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, & tomato. The filling was okay, a little bland & I thought there'd be more steak to it. I got a large horchata for my drink, & while it was tasty in the first few sips, it was VERY VERY sweet, a bit too sweet for me. The staff seems friendly & the place was clean. I did notice that when they brought other people's food they also brought a bottle of salsa verde & some other salsa, I think possibly a roasted tomatillo...? They did not offer me that; kinda bummed bc I love salsa verde, maybe I needed to request it though. Overall, it's filling, tastes just okay, they have reasonable prices, nice staff,...
Read moreUpdate: after going here for about two year I have over looked many things. For first I have been getting moldy flan about 3 times now. It’s to the point I check before leaving now. Also many times the lady has mixed up our food and we got someone else order. Many times has this happened and I have over looked it many times. They even forget our drink from the menu and again we over looked it. However today was the final straw. The lady at the window asked what did we order and I repeated what we got. I got two drinks she charged for one and gave me one. I told her I asked for two and she seemed like it was the end of the world. Well they didn’t get my order right what a shocker..not. Definitely place has gone down not sure I want to keep supporting this business anymore. I have been coming daily sometimes 3 times a week. Very annoying when they can’t get their orders right or with moldy food!
Family owned business. Im originally from Los Angeles who moved her while my husband is stationed. This place is exactly what I miss about LA. The tacos the Hispanic food. I’m Hispanic so it has been very important to find a place with my culture dishes while out here. And this place hasn’t disappointed at all. It’s our go to place for our taco fix And my menudo fix. If u are looking for good tacos I definitely recommend you...
Read moreMy first time at La Fondita was getting takeout. I had expectations of it being good, and it was one of the few places serving lengua tacos. The food turned out to be some of the best and exceeded my expectations. I liked the colorful decor and the cleanliness of the place. There was no traffic. The food was immediately prepped and made. Very impressed.
The Lengua was « The Best » I ever had. It was at the lowest price for lengua tacos in Clarksville as well. It was delicious and had the most extra side vegetables I ever had in a takeout: cucumbers, pickled carrots, and peppers onions, and radishes. The platos steak burrito with rice and beans was great too. I wished I had gotten a side of Mexican rice to eat. The Mineragua is my favorite drink to order in a Mexican restaurant and I ordered it for nostalgia sake. It has been a long time since I had one. I could drink three of them every day. I will definitely come to La Fondita and try everything on the menu when I am craving...
