If I could rate my experience a negative or no stars I would. Order chicken lettuce wraps it was supposed to have chicken, water, chestnuts, corn, rice sticks and lettuce. Upon getting the plate looking there was no chicken or water chestnuts on the heaping mounds of rice sticks and glob of corn although they were closing in 45 mins I still expected what I was paying for. Tried to get the waitress attention for 15 mins she still never came to table to busy trying to close. Finally I raised my voice a little louder ma'am. She comes to the table I started that there was no chicken or water chestnuts wasn't present in my wraps. She said no chicken I stated no ma'am. She walked off. I waited for the bill we never recieve it. Get up and walk to register explain to the owner im assuming what just transpired. She was like no chicken, yeeeeeeees nooooooooo chicken or water chestnuts. Oh we don't have water chestnuts for a long time ok well what about chicken. I dont understand. You got no chicken. Yeeeeeeees ma'am no chicken. Turned to go grab plate and the waitress hurried and grab it and dumped it. I said well I could of showed you but she dumped the plate. She say come back tomorrow I fix. I said I didn't want them tomorrow I wanted them today. I had to eat off my friends plate. So she states well I can give $2 off before could finish ummmm $2 of what something I didn't eat. No ma'am. Call the waitress over, she comes and she ask her about the chicken and she going to turn around and say she ate it. Do whhhhhhhhat ma'am you know I did no such thing. The plate was at the end of the table the whole time. You didn't see me eat anything off that plate. How could you when it took forever for you to come for me to show you. So how you see what I ate but I didn't eat nothing. So the older lady at register says you ate some so I can only give you $2 off. I said no ma'am I didn't but it's all good I just will never come back here EVER AGAIN and I mean that. She said well we lose money. You're right my money, because I don't care about you losing money, I don't have money to throw away and waste. I expect to pay for something I ordered but not if it's not what I asked for. Didn't ask for rice noodles and corn wraps but chicken wrapped but it's all good I WON'T BE BACK AND I REPEAT I WON'T BE BACK. Then that $2 she claimed she took never existed. I guess she thinks we can't do the math cause it...
Read moreIf you want sushi or japanese cuisine I'd highly recommend the Yellowtail or Kohana Clarksville location before you eat here. My girlfriend and I used to be big fans of this place, but our last 3 experiences have been absolutely dreadful. Tonight we were not notified of any wait time and the staff didnt look terribly busy. We were seated at the sushi bar while awaiting an available booth. We sat for 20 minutes before I finally asked how much longer it would be before we'd be seated at a table. The waitress I had spoken to told me it would be 10 to 15 minutes, but then immediately said that they just needed to wipe down the table (after peeking around the corner to see that there was in fact an available booth). We were seated at the booth, no one took our drink order and we just sat there for another 30 minutes completely ignored by all of the staff until finally walking out. It's a real shame because this place used to be our favorite sushi spot but it feels like the current staff is not well trained in the hospitality department. I'd be willing to bet that the recent good reviews this establishment is receiving are from people dining during slow hours or from large parties dining at the hibachi grill. I've worked in the food hospitality industry all of my life and I must admit the "Kentucky Derby" and the "Volcano Roll" from this place are delicious. It's just not worth feeling disrespected and ignored as a customer. We left hungry and dissappointed. It wouldve been totally different if we had been notified of the wait or paid any attention whatsoever from the staff who were just standing around at times. If you just read through the other reviews it'll be apparent that this establishment is truly hit or miss. Unfortunately it has "missed" for us the last 3 times we have attempted to eat here and we will be not be returning our business...
Read moreWe decided to have dinner at Yamato last night. It had been several years since I had been there, and it was good back then. Apparently the management and staff was having an 'off night' (giving them the benefit of the doubt). We arrived at 7:50pm and stood at the entrance/hostess area for about 20 minutes before anyone even said "hi". It was another 15 minutes before being seated. The poor waitress... it seemed as though this was her first day at Yamato and first day as a waitress. It took another 10-15 minutes before asking about sake. You know, the most popular Japanese adult beverage. She had no idea of the sizes/types and it took another 10 minutes to hear about the flavored sake. We just wanted regular hot sake. It was brought to us midway through the meal. Speaking of the meal, the hibachi chef was great and the food was awesome. We did order steamed rice, which was brought to us after the meal, I guess as a new/trendy dessert. We were never asked if we wanted an additional beverage or an actual dessert. It seemed like the waitress was just itching to be relieved of her work responsibilities and go home. Earlier, as the chef arrived, we had not yet gotten our soup or salad. This was hurriedly brought to the table as the chef tried to stall a bit. The overall experience felt out-of-sync and just... off. This may have been due to staffing, but we saw at least three waitstaff that often looked confused, or were huddled together trying to understand...
