So here's a story for you. We have been pretty regulars at this place. One negative experience in the past, but generally positive. That's different now.
Here's the story. It's a doozy.
We arrived to meet 3 adult friends/parents and their 3 kids. There were 10 of us total. My wife and I arrived before the others, and waited for a couple of minutes for the others. We were the only patrons this evening with children in the restaurant. And trust me, I get it. Large parties with kids can be a headache, but our money is green just like everyone else's.
When we pulled up, one employee was sitting on the ground outside smoking a cigarette next to the front door, which has a clear "no smoking please" sign posted. He flicked the ash off halfway through the cig, went inside for a minute, then came back out to finish. He was then on the line rolling out dough, with no gloves. He could have washed his hands — I didn't see him wash up after the two smoke breaks — but still. Maybe a better idea to send employees out back to smoke, and maybe use gloves when preparing people's food. Just a suggestion.
Now here's where it gets good. After our food arrived, I went to the register to get change to use in the candy machine. An employee, who never addressed me, was standing in the doorway to the kitchen with a giant wad of dip in his jaw, looking at his phone.
He walks over behind the bar to a female employee, who has a giant hickey on her neck. Clearly visible.
The conversation, to which I am the unsuspecting third-party audience, goes as follows. This is a direct quote.
Male, holding his phone, to the girl with the hickey: "Hey, do you want to see a video of a baby getting hit?" Girl with hickey: "I would LOVE to see a video of a baby getting hit."
Remember we are the only people in the restaurant with kids, who had a large, complicated order on multiple tickets. I get it, that can be a headache, but that's the service industry and what it takes to make money.
In a previous similar experience with the same group of people, there was similar disdain displayed from employees at the presence of children.
Here's the bottom line: Have and maintain standards. This is a military community and there are thousands of people around town who can talk to you about setting and adhering to standards. And not difficult standards.
We're talking about not smoking next to your own no smoking sign, not allowing people to dip around other people's food, exhibit blatant disrespect for children, and display visual evidence of sexual encounters in front of your customers. In any other respectable business, that would be grounds for disciplinary action or termination.
Simply, it's unbecoming, and frankly,...
Read moreI will NEVER visit this establishment again! The service was terrible and the food was mediocre. However, that isn't the worst part. I hate to say it, but there was definitely some uncomfortable racial tension and I felt like I didn't belong there. My wife and I walked in at approximately 12:30 pm for lunch, we were the only guest at that time. We sat down and Codi, the waitress, didn't seem too enthused to be there, but we brushed that off and ordered a large pizza with a house salad. About 10-15 minutes later an older white couple comes in and sits at a table next to us, we exchange smiles. They order their food and we're still waiting for our order to come out. Another 10-15 minutes elapsed, and Codi brings the other couple's order out. Even they questioned how their order came out before ours and offered some of their pizza to us. About 5 minutes later Codi comes back to our table and says, "sorry, we only have one cook right now and she's a little backed up, but your pizza is in the oven right now.". The other couple's desert comes out, then finally the pizza we ordered about 30 prior comes out. Also, the pizza was a bit undercooked and definitely didn't taste like it had come right out the oven. Dominos would have been a...
Read moreWe’ve been here a few times now and absolutely love it. Realistically the only complaint is the prices could be a little better but it’s a very small complaint to say the least. Subs are amazing. Pizza is some of the best I’ve had. Breadsticks are spectacular. What really won us over was the other day due to the weather, they lost power. We had all of our food ate, just waiting for desert and the power went out. Ofcourse it Never came back on but they didn’t hesitate to let us go without paying. Most places I know would be super strict and maybe even rude about finding a solution but they let us and a couple others go without paying. All they asked was for us to come back and absolutely we will. The staff and the owner was super nice as well. We can tell they had a rough day prior to us being there but it didn’t matter. They pushed through it and still made sure everyone had a good experience. You don’t see hospitality like this anymore. We...
