I'm sorry, I just don't like this coffee shop. I'm not a huge fan of coffee in the first place, so I usually steer clear from options that have coffee in them, or I expect to have lots of coffee in them. The first time I went with my sister I got a Java Chip Frappe and it was so bitter. It didnt taste like Java Chip, just black coffee. I went up to the counter, and someone did remake it "with less coffee" and they were sweet enough about it but when I tasted it it tasted exactly the same. My sisters oreo frappe also just tasted like coffee without oreo flavouring.
On Saturday I went back with my dad and sister. My dad ordered an extra hot caramel macchaito. It was room temp when he got it, and the guy heating it up poured the whole drink back in the steamer and warmed it up. As someone who works in a coffee shop, I know this will caramalise the syrup. It made his drink super sweet. My sisters white mocha frappe, once again, tasted like barely sweet coffee. On top that, the girl went to put the whip cream on and pressed too hard, making a mess of her drink. She cleaned off rhe counter and then wiped off my sisters drink rim WITH THE SAME RAG she cleaned the dirty counter with! That's unsanitary, people stand over there and grab their drinks from there.
I ordered a small mango smoothie with lychee jellies and they told me they can only add the jellies if i got a large (ridiculous if you ask me, its not like its changing a ratio, its the same smoothie either way) but i said okay and got it without it. That smoothie was awful. It tasted like concentrated snow cone syrup. My dad took it back and just asked for his money back, to which they said they dont give money back and tried to argue with him about it, until the girl walked off to get the manager and the manager eventually came to refund him the drink.
The girl working the counter was also just rude. My dad said hello, how are you and she just replied deadpan "what do you want to drink." Uhm? I'm not super happy all the time at my job either but i certainly dont reply like that to customers.
I've given this place two tries and five drinks and none of them have tasted good. They're really busy inside most of the time, but my experiences just haven't...
Read moreMy first time to this coffee shop was last Monday. Great experience. The girl who helped us was super knowledgeable. I asked for a chai tea latte with coconut milk and she let me know that their chai mix had dairy in it and quickly made another suggestion. Told me to do a London Fog with chai instead of Earl Grey. Decided that it would be my Monday afternoon spot. Came back today and there was a gentleman helping at the front and let’s say customer service was lacking. My mom placed an order for her and my dad and somehow her super easy order of one black regular coffee and one decaf Americano created confusion. I will admit my explanation to him as to what my mom was ordering may have come off condescending but I was quick to try and lighten the mood after that. I guess I hurt his pride a bit because he was not having it. My mom at one point was apologizing and trying to explain herself and he turned his back to her and blew her off. After she paid I told him what I ordered last week and he said “that’s not a London Fog” and I told him I know but I want a London Fog with chai. As he was getting my order priced out I tried to again apologize and lighten the mood by saying “we are a confusing bunch” and his response was “something like that.” It’s a shame because I enjoyed my drink both times but I’m not going to go to a place where the worker’s treat you that way. It’s getting 3 stars because the latte and coffee were delicious. Advice to management is to put your barista’s or front of house workers with great customer service skills at...
Read moreThe original location was a real diamond 💎 in the rough. The staff was so friendly, the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing, and the food, you could tell was made with pride.
The new location is a bit disheartening for me, personally. It feels more sterile and bleak, less homey. The staff seem nice, but not necessarily kind, like they are PLEASED to have you there. And it is not set up for comfortable working space any longer. There are ZERO plugs on any walls, other than the bar, which is always full. I used to like going for a few hours, eating lunch, and then heading out. I’ve been twice now and the first time I had to leave cause my computer needed power. I ate and the chicken salad sandwich just wasn’t the same.
I went again and didn’t stay because though there were empty tables, there were no plugs. Again, both bars were full. I suspect this is a business decision, so people don’t camp out too long and take up space. I can respect that.
And also be...
