First time and the last time we ever try this place. So I stupidly ordered what you call on your menu "Airline Chicken" GROSS NAME BTW and I even asked my server.. "you know, the name of this dish doesn't sound very appetizing. What do you think of it?" She just kinda smiled and quietly said with doubt... "it's good". Needless to say, it was disgusting and tasted nothing but rosemary. Rosemary in the mashed potatoes, which were runny and chunky. Big chunks of rosemary just thrown on top of the chicken which was absolutely disgusting tasting. ZERO flavor on the chicken, besides that bundle of rosemary,. Idk the taste was... I can't describe it, but I can imagine the chicken is what I got sick from. My boyfriend would not even try a bite of it! And btw, that was the very first time I had eaten that day, so I knew it was no one or nothing else that could've done this to me. And what sucks is we kinda knew the server too. So it was a little unfortunate that they wouldn't tell the truth on what they think of a dish. If a server has never tasted a dish, you simply say, I don't know. Or if you have had it, which I'm sure they did, you tell then the truth. You don't lie to your customers. I've been serving for almost two decades, and the one thing my customers love about me is my honesty. Needless to say about 8 hours later, I started experiencing the worst pain in my stomach, throwing up, etc.. you know what happens when you eat "not so good food"... Things start coming out of everywhere! I've had to take days off work. It's been awful, and that was eight days ago, and I am still sick as a dog. The only reason I decided to leave this post is bc I just left my doctor, who thankfully pumped me full of fluids and had prescribed me some actual medicine to get rid of whatever virus your food "allegedly" gave me. I even took 2 Covid tests, flu tests just to be sure... nothing. So by my entire basis of elimination, I will never, ever ever ever ever ever ever again eat or recommend the Clayton Chop House to anyone I know or respect. And a hundred dollars for 2 people, 2 beers and 2 meals? No thank you, not here at least! By the way, my boyfriend had the fish and chips. It was a little better, but the batter just falls right off the fish as soon as you grab it. Zero seasoning on the fish batter, it was soooo bland. And it literally turned into a hot mess to eat! He had to knife and fork his fish n chips. So...

Clayton Chicken & Chophouse is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and an inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
The service was top-notch — attentive, kind, and genuinely focused on making sure everything was perfect. You can tell the staff really care about their guests and take pride in what they do.
I ordered the burger and fries, and wow — easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked exactly the way I asked. The bun was fresh and perfectly toasted, and every bite was packed with that classic, satisfying flavor you hope for but rarely find. The fries were golden, crispy, and perfectly seasoned — the kind you can’t stop picking at even when you’re full.
Everything from the presentation to the taste showed real attention to detail. It’s clear this place values quality and consistency.

Read moreOwner visited with us after we ordered and was very personable. Staff were all wonderful. Ordered chicken strips, fish, and flank steak. Breading on chicken is good, but the chicken itself had no flavor. The fish (cod) was amazing. The flank steak was ordered well done, received as rare (didn't send back as that just makes it tough). Baked potatoes were cold, couldn't even melt the butter. Planned to order dessert (it was a birthday meal), but $14 for a slice of carrot cake is excessive! We bought an entire cheesecake at WM for $13 on the way home instead. Overall, medium experience. The serving sizes are large and suit the pricing. My personal opinion is the chicken could use a brine. It's still a new place and I see them...
