Gosh, where to start with this little gem. We were up from Kennesaw for an overnight getaway and hidden behind several other businesses in a tiny little shopping strip, next to a do it yourself car wash, lies this amazing, little, eatery. Quaint, clean, and homey come to mind. Mismatched dishes, random coffee cups and varieties of different silverware make you forget you're in a restaurant and gives you the impression that you've just been invited into your friends home. Our server was in the middle of her breakfast when we walked in, and it was no bother to her at all, she nabbed what we needed with a quickness and went back to doing her thing. That as well just made ya feel like you were again hanging out in a friends kitchen. We wanted for nothing our entire visit. Glass empty she was there, extra this that or the other no worries. We went for breakfast so I'll speak on that. We both got a different omelette (western and a vege, and they were huge !! Stuffed full of vege's, ham, cheese. Side of potatoes, toast, grits just a plethora of food at an amazing price and it all tasted, well... like maybe your mom or grandma just cooked for you. So to summarize: Excellent food, Excellent Service, Excellent Atmosphere, Excellent Value for your money. Don't miss this incredible,...
Read moreOverpriced food. Service was hurried. I don't like to be called Darlin' or Sweetheart by my server. It just wrankles my backbone. Ordered the chicken finger plate and was brought 5 pieces of almost unidentifiable strips of overcooked chicken. Had I gone to Zaxby's the amount I was given at Sunday Diner would have not even equalled 2 from Zaxby's. And Zaxby's would not have served anything like that in the first place. My Dad ordered a BBQ sandwich. There was so much juice that drained from the pork that his bun totally disintegrated. He didn't even eat it. The other people I was dining with are 'locals' and they just loved their food! One had spaghetti and she poured spaghetti sauce liquid out of her plate twice but yet she loved it. The other had a breakfast plate with eggs, sausage and toast...... I guess that's harder to mess up. Anyway, I know it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round and for that I an grateful because even though my personal experience was unsatisfactory I'm glad to know that there are others here that will keep visiting which will continue to help the...
Read moreWell I was already a fan of the Sunday Diner in Clayton Georgia but on February 16th they decided to open up a dinner seafood menu and I got to say it is just awesome!
Generous portions, quick turnaround service, very moderate pricing. We don't need a Captain D's or a Long John silver's when we have real authentic Southern cooking in a multitude of seafood menu choices.
I got the all you can eat fish which was a fried swai fish that has grown in popularity in recent years. There was a great selection of sites including unlimited refills on things like broccoli casserole which was just awesome.
If there was anything down, it was the very limited selection of diet beverage choices but then that happens at a lot of places.
Rabun County is a tourist destination but this is a place where the locals go as the restaurant is kind of off the beaten path hidden behind United Community Bank. I totally recommend this place. Coach runs a tight ship but he is very giving to the community especially the Boy...
