We walk in, only 2 men were there. We set down and our order was taken immediately but then we waited over 1 hour for our food. After sitting there waiting for our placed order about 30 minutes later others walked in. It was breakfast, really! How long does it take to get ready. For the first 30 minutes we were there only us and the other 2 men were there. They finally get their food, they eat and paid. By this time a few more people come in, it took 1 hour and 10 minutes for our food to arrive. It's very very small in there. It doesn't hold many people. But the wait time was CRAZY!!! And the food wasn't worth it. Our scrambled eggs were not fully cooked. The sausage was weird with no flavor. The grits were clumpy and hard. Very very disappointed. We kept telling each other, well it's took long enough, maybe it will be delicious and hot, but NO. And way over priced $36.00 for 2 platters, 2 drinks and a cinnomon roll.
I will say the cinnamon roll was out of this world amazingly scrumptious!!! I'd almost over look the horrible unnecessary wait and other bad food and give it a 5 based on the cinnamon roll. It was HEAVENLY!! I would go back just to run in get a cinnamon roll and back out, BUT THATS IT!!!!!!
We wanted it to be good so much, but that wait for bad food was not a...

We stopped by to visit The Rusty Bike Cafe, but it was crowded. We looked over to the left and entered Mountain Grill instead. I definitely think we made the better decision to go there.
It's a smaller, more personal restaurant run by one single adorable lady. The atmosphere inside of the place gives you this warm, cozy feeling. There's about 6-7 tables in the place. The kitchen is a more dated, older type similar to one you would see in a cottage in any random movie. Definitely added to the vibes 👌🏾. You can see fresh cinnamon rolls in the window at any given time as well.
The service was great! The food was fresh and made to order. It will take a little longer than normal because it's a single person operation, but the food is well worth the wait. We ordered the veggie quiche, hash browns, and a slice of banana bread. Right before we left though, we decided to grab a cinnamon roll for the road. We figured it was only fair, seeing as we violated them with our eyes the whole time we were in the place 🤣
Anyways, if you come to Clayton, GA, visit Mountain Grill. Your soul will thank you.
TLDR: Mountain Grill has great food, a cozy atmosphere, and a sweet lady with...
Read moreWhat a great place. The food here is prepared to order so if you're in a hurry you should probably go to McDonalds down the street and eat their street trash because good, quality food takes time. This is a place to relax, put your phone down, look across the table, visit with your mate, and wait for your culinary delight to show up. My wife and I have had the sweet potato pancakes (yum!) the Campfire Scramble (They actually 'ask' you how you'd like your hash browns cooked-me: extra crispy), their cinnamon rolls (so good they have to be Heaven sent), the sour dough bread (eating some right now at home...incredible) and their fresh made quiche...to die for. All the baked goods are made onsite fresh daily and don't last long. Susie, the owner and head chef, is the sweetest thing on two legs and well skilled in good vittles. We have a second home here but I'm thinking about throwing a sleeping bag in the back of...
