My husband and I had driven for several hours and were exhausted.
We saw the shiny inviting golden arches and thought we would stop in. This restaurant was a kiosk type of fast food restaurant, where you order food via a kiosk, and then a human would call your number when the food was ready.
We did not know it was a kiosk type of restaurant until we entered the restaurant and saw all of the little kiosks. They kind of remind me of the type of kiosk you see at an airport when you do self-service at check-in.
We used the application from our table and ordered a Big Mac, a McChicken sandwich, French Fries, a Hi-C, and a small chocolate shake. It came $ 20.06.
We were starving from traveling so long during the day and grateful to have a place to sit.
I immediately opened my sandwich, thinking it would be the typical Big Mac that I'm used to. When I opened the box, things in the box fell out of the box onto the table. The top bun was askew, and you could see the meat below the bun. The bun, tons of lettuce with sauce, and the meat were not in a good place in order to be a Big Mac.
I have never had this happen to me before. I have eaten at McDonald's many times in my life, and this was the first time that I opened the sandwich packaging, and everything flew out.
It looked like everything was just shoved in. The sandwich appeared bent. I had to pick up the meat, the lettuce and the top bun and put it back into what was left inside the box.
When I touched the bun, it felt medium hard - not the warm, soft bun I was used to all my life. It was definitely stale bread.
Since I was so hungry, I decided to eat it anyway.
When I first bit into the sandwich, I noticed that it was cold from the bun that first entered my mouth to the bun that was on the bottom of my mouth - and everything in between.
It was basically a cold sandwich. It was not cold as ice. Just cold.
It was not what I was expecting.
My chocolate milkshake appeared to be something that needed to be stirred or mixed - it was in clumps. So I shook the cup several times and distributed the contents, and stirred it, using my straw. These actions disturbed the whipped cream, which was actually pretty good.
My french fries were burnt - some places were really dark brown and hard. They were not hot. They were lukewarm. Instead of the nice elongated pieces of potato I'm usually used to at McDonald's? Many of the fries were about half the size of my pinky or less. I was thinking about this when I was dipping them into my tiny container of ketchup. How very different these fries seemed from the french fries I usually get at McDonald's.
Did someone decide to use all the itsy bitsy pieces that were left over and place those pieces into my french fry box? There were some pieces that were long. However? Those pieces were hard, luke warm to cold, and obviously not the french fries I'm used to.
My husband's chicken sandwich was nothing to write home about. His Hi-C tasted a little thin.
When we sat down to eat - our table was cleared. However? It was not wiped down. There were food particles and something that looked like dried ketchup stuck to our table in several places. The booth itself needed a wipe down, too (the seats had food on them).
The bathrooms were clean enough. However? The trash receptacle that collected all of the paper towels after you dry your hands was full. There was about two feet of old paper towels on the floor. Some of those paper towels appeared to be wet.
The facility had a slight odor of sulfur.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. However, I had to give it a one star in order to write this review.
I can't help but think that many of these issues could have been taken care of if more humans were involved in the service.
I am very disappointed in this particular McDonald's.
Aso? If this is how a typical kiosk operation is going to be? I question my willingness to ever utilize a McDonald's that offered a kiosk type...
Read moreUpon entering at 2:30pm, there was only another mom with her 2 small children seated and eating. I stood at the counter for maybe 5 minutes while gathering my children’s choices. I could see several employees (maybe 5) standing way off to the side near the drive thru window, but they could clearly see me. Maybe they thought I couldn’t see them? They were socializing amongst themselves, trying to ignore me. I very clearly made eye contact with at least one of them, but I must have been invisible because not one of them came to the counter to take my order or even ask how they could help me. So my niece told me I need to place my order thru the kiosk. An 11 year old is evidently smarter than me as she walked me how to order on the stupid thing. (Why bother having warm bodies behind the counter, because clearly there was NO CUSTOMER SERVICE anywhere I could see). The trash cans were overflowing and about to fall on the floor. The tables were dirty…all of them. I did find 1 that wasn’t, so we sat there. When they called my number, I went up to get my food and took they opportunity to speak to a live person, and told them that “since their lobby isn’t full of customers and they clearly aren’t busy behind the counter, it appears they have plenty of staff to spare 1 or 2 to come out and empty the trash that’s spilling out, and wipe down the filthy tables”! The girl just looked at me kinda shocked that I called her out on their piss poor behavior and service, and then said in the sweetest voice, “oh definitely, I will send someone out right away.” You know, we were in there for about 30 mins, and by the time we left, not 1 staff member came out and did a damn thing! I watched them the whole time…never took a customer’s order, never greeted anyone. Just stood around socializing with each other or on their phones. My job is “customer service” oriented, and I would have been FIRED for this behavior!! I realize this is the 1st job ever for many of these kids, but this is EXACTLY why this is unacceptable! How do we expect our kids to learn good work ethics if we don’t teach them, expect it from them AND hold them accountable when they are lacking it? We can teach them as parents, but it has to be reinforced at work! Obviously the owner isn’t present in the operation of his business…physical or otherwise, observant, let alone reading any of these sad disgraceful reviews. I suspect if he/she/they were, these reviews might look a lot different. I would expect this from a Westside McDonald’s, a few in Seattle or Auburn come to mind, but Cle Elum??? (Maybe owner IS from Westside, so this is the best we can expect, who knows?) Oh, and the ketchup did kind of taste a little “off”….from the dispenser, not packets. To the owner of Cle Elum McDonald’s: your employees need an overhaul. They need to go to a McDonald’s corporate training camp….as do you! You and your employees need to have some better standards because the current ones leave something to be desired. With all the negative reviews about your staff, I HATE to think what the conditions of the kitchen are in, especially the walk ins, deep fryers, ice cream and ice machines, microwaves, and everything else! I can only imagine, I mean if staff is willing to let trash pile up and spill out onto floor and tables are filthy when dining room is empty…..you’ve really set the standards...
Read moreWorst experience in any McDonald’s I have ever had. Walked in at 8:18 am lobby was being moped floor signs were out so there was no safety hazard, bathrooms were dirty toilet paper all over the stalls, mirrors not clean. Walked up to the front counter was not recognized whatsoever, waited 10 minutes for someone to come over and nothing. A different customer pointed me towards the screen to take my own order. Placed my order no receipt came out then I went to the front counter again and was not acknowledged until I said something to someone cleaning the restrooms. I explained to him my situation and he said the screen froze that they would take my order up front. When a lady came up with the worst customer service I have ever experienced. She made no eye contact, short ended answers and bluntly rude. In general someone you wouldn’t want to put in front of a ANY customers ever. After placing my order sat down with a table number but my order was called out?? So not making it a big deal I walked up to get it. Also one thing forgot to mention the bagels I ordered were not being displayed on the screen, I stumbled on it on the kiosk. My steak egg and cheese begals came out as a sausage egg and cheese, ordered an iced coffee received a regular hot coffee. So I got up and took it up front they asked me if I was sure I ordered it ICED 🤦♂️. By this time I was extremely annoyed but kept my cool not raising my voice at anyone, it took everything for me not to turn into a Karen. When I finally received my iced coffee it was made plain no sugar light cream……I ordered it regular so I politely grabbed all my incorrect items and walked out. Not to mention the entire transaction was about $35 and took about 45 minutes I had no time to waste as I am filming this morning and this experience cost me more money then what it was worth. I hate leaving negative experiences but the only good thing from my visit was the older gentleman group who were out golfing cracking jokes. Besides that the golden arches let...
