Want to re-visit the 1960s? Book this Hotel! ||||What a DUMP. There are many other choices nearby – all better than this I feel sure. ||||Booked online and they should be arrested for the misleading images they use. We fell for it – don’t repeat our mistake. Paid DOUBLE what an ancient dump like this should cost. Can get small town Hilton brand properties for about this rate, and earn some HHonors miles. Near empty, and little wonder. Room number was #100C. No idea about interior of other rooms. ||||Strange rules you needed to sign up for at check in including a $100 free if the simple old school room key was lost or not returned. This is 2023 folks not 1963. Owner has a passion for crazy rules and every door has amateur looking quarto typed notes all over them, and breakfast room has many. Like being back in high school again. ||||Run down exteriors, lobby, and rooms, and surrounds, even down to 10 year old decrepit and disintegrating door mats outside etc. $10 each to replace from Lowes. Re-visiting the 1960s, as that was last time most of it updated am sure. Bed sheets and pillow cases had NOT been newly laundered I will bet. Hairs on both. Bathroom in #100c had a newish bathroom, in fairness, and room had been painted. But old school dated layout. Needs a work desk – plenty of room for that. ||||Large tall WEEDS all around front and back – one a yard high right by front lobby check in door – very lazy owners and staff – takes only 5 minutes to pull those up and add some eye appeal. ‘First Impressions’ etc. Same with side and back of hotel where guests park – weeds everywhere. ZERO cost to rectify. ||||Just shows total disinterest from owners/staff. Junk and old chairs and other rubbish strewn about for those using back guest entrance. See photos. ||||Tatty old weird room, with a bed about a YARD off the ground – no idea why. I am very tall – a short person might need to borrow a stepladder to get in or go to bathroom in middle of night – a serious health hazard!||||On a pretty busy highway, so asked if we could get a room at back to cut noise. Check-in lady said THAT side was right on the Freight Train line. Not near it, but nothing between it an room! She was right – they helpfully beep their loud horns all night to wake you up. I kid you not. 2am, 3am – super annoying. We hate AC in rooms as I catch colds. Tried to turn this one totally off as weather mild, but it burst into life on its own accord. ||||Wanted a desk to do computer work and website photos showed one. NOPE. Needed to use a tiny bedside side table, sitting on a way too low armchair, that left my back totally to the tiny TV set. Terrific. No coffee maker in room, (WHAT????!) or water of any kind, so went to lobby, and there were convoluted hand written instructions that most adults could not understand. ||||On check out, handed over key (to ensure they did not bill me $100!) and bored staffer did not even say the usual ‘how was your stay’ pleasantries etc. ||||Hot BREAKFAST was advertised – well FACT CHECK correction – what was offered was a few pieces of bread, a trat of MARMALADE spread – no other toast toppings. No small Yogurts that are universal – except here. There were a few sachets of Uncle Toby oats. This is NOT ‘Breakfast' folks. ||||Asked the totally disinterested front desk lady if there was any MILK we could use on those. With bad grace she raised her large frame to look in kitchen and replied – I kid you not – ‘NOPE we have no Milk – I must note to get some in for TOMORROW’. True. These folks do NOT deserve your business. ||||Internet password was long and un-necessarily hard to log it – took me 3 tries. WHY do owners do such annoying things? Make it simple, like GUEST etc. In 2023, WHO is going to park outside and steal a web signal??||||The Hotel actually has good bones. Owners need to sell it to someone who CARES, or drop the rate to reflect the bare offerings . See attached images – it is a...
Read moreI have to confirm other reviews that are critical. Breakfast bar was substandard, grounds were weedy with debris, old screen door, AC/heating units and furnishings laying around outside with an overall appearance of neglect. This all comes down to cost-cutting including the breakfast bar. Its simple economics! They likely don't have a grounds keeper or contract the work out. When several people have to perform all duties, tasks get prioritized and thus neglected.
I stayed there November 1st 2021 and again in Sept. of 2022 with my dog. While the overall experience was positive and I'm likely going to stay there again, those are areas that need to be addressed. Hire some high school kid to clean the place up. Update your website with current information. Grounds keeping won't cost a lot nor will having current information your website. Remodeling is where the owners would incur significant expense. When you boil it all down, it indicates financial struggles. COVID was tough on everyone.
Here's another thing that sort of annoyed me. I'm 65 years old and a never smoker. When you warn people about smoking in the rooms and they state they're non-smokers / never smokers, it's time to end harping about smoking. Warning me multiple times (2021 stay) after I said I was a...
Read moreWith 4 stars his place was a shocking disappointment. The first thing we noticed were giant stains on the carpet, short curly's in the tub, stained wash cloths and bed sheets, the thinnest pillows I've ever seen, cracked and broken lamp shades and window blinds. The one hotel chair was so stained, we wouldn't go near it let alone use it (picture included). My friend said, "Somone could have died in here"". The switch on one lamp post was literally hanging out of it's socket and we were afraid of being shocked. There was no blow dryer (although the website said there was), coffee maker or microwave in the room. The website says ice is available upon request, but it's not, at least not for us. Breakfast was brown and white bread to make toast and apples. Glad I didn't just take a bite of the apple because it was rotten in the center. Could things get any worse! Yes they could. The coffee was TERRIBLE! it was some generic K pods. Spend the extra cash and stay somewhere else even if you have to drive to Ellensburg. However, if for some reason you do end up here, there are 2 good things: 1) the bed is comfortable, if you can get past the heebie-jeebies and stained bed sheets, and quiet even though on the main road. My friend said I had to leave a review to...
