Our group traveled for what we thought would be a nice meal. Thoroughly disappointed!! The one refrigerator was down so no speciality drinks. No draft beers. The fryer was down- only certain appetizers available. We ordered our appetizers and meals at the same time. The appetizer came but the meal didn’t. Finally I asked if our meal was coming after waiting an 1 1/2 hours. Two of us had grilled chicken salad. No flavor to the chicken and cut in very small pieces. Not nicely sliced on a diagonal and lying on the top of the salad. A couple of us had ordered pasta dishes. The serving size was good. They did ask for a box to take home leftovers that they couldn’t finish. We did ask to speak to the manager (who wasn’t there) but the owner was. We tried to explain that we were not pleased with the meal. The facts that the refrigerator was down, the fryer wasn’t working, the watermelon salsa was almost all watermelon juice, the chicken was bland, the 1 pasta dish is better at Delgrosso! The owner said what do you want me to do? I can’t help it that things broke down before you came? We suggested perhaps a little off the bill or a credit to come another time. His response included that people just think the small business owner sits around doing nothing. What would we have done if our car broke down? To which we’re not sure what that had to do with our displeasure with his food. He remarked that all the food had been eaten but in reality it was boxed up to take home. As we were leaving, he turned around and very loudly said -you are all ripping me off taking the food home! We’re not sure how that is ripping him off! The bill was paid in full with No Discounts or Credits. So if we were ripping him off by taking home the food we paid for and had partially eaten, can anyone tell us what he was planning to do with the leftover food? Was he planning on eating it himself, or letting the staff eat it or mb re-serving it to someone else?? Never have we been accused of ripping someone off by taking home the uneaten portion of food that was paid for ! We had hoped to reasonably discuss this issue with him, receive a small discount off the price rather than resort to a bad review but unfortunately he was not able to work with us for a solution . Instead he came across as arrogant, indignant and insensitive. Our waitress was delightful. She did her job well and she had the difficult task to tell the customers what was...
Read moreThe Best Italian wedding soup I have ever had. They claim it is homemade, and I believe it. I'm including a picture of it. It has the meatballs AND shredded chicken breast, which only elevated it for me. Full of flavor, and you know that for me, Flavor is King! For dessert, they claim the owners mother makes them all from scratch. I've no reason to doubt. I ordered the lemon something pie. Closely resembles key lime pie, but lighter with a nice smooth lemon flavor and excellent Graham Crissy and not heavy at all .. very airy, in a good way! I enjoyed that. For entree I ordered the cucumber walleye salmon (about $21 as I recall). That was NOT enjoyable at all. I asked beforehand how they prepared it, and was told "medium / medium rare". I like it more on the medium rare side, but this was prepared fully medium if not medium well as it was very dry! That was very disappointing, so I didn't bother past two bites. Personally, I thought the cucumber was overkill .. that much cucumber would overpower the natural flavor of the salmon, had it been cooked properly (to my preference/ request that is). I ordered a side of their fresh pasta ($1 additional) because I prefer fresh if available, and two meatballs ($1.75 each) with their own marinara sauce. The pasta tasted fresh (good), the Meatballs were decent (not Wow, but good), the sauce was much on the sweet side, so definitely did not prefer that. So for a total of $21+$1+$1.75+$1.75=$25.50, they discounted $15, leaving my small side pasta dish at $10.50. I could've argued that is a bit much for a side pasta dish, but I didn't because I ate it and my waitress, Lori, was so very pleasant! To finish, I ordered another cup of soup to take with me, which I thoroughly enjoyed later in the evening! So, nice atmosphere, wonderful friendly waitress, appealing and diverse menu. I'd say, Try Some, but skip the salmon if you like...
