Clearwater Legion — Restaurant in Clearwater

Always loved going to eat here. However, this time it took 50 minutes to get 1 special which was a juicy Lucy with tator tots and a shrimp basket. There were 2 other women who ordered before us and they split super Nachos. No one else ordered food til after we recieved ours. The special was good but the shrimp basket, not so much. The hash browns were fried so crisp that you couldn't eat them and they have me butterflied breaded shrimp that were also fried extremely crisp. Poorest food I've ever had in a restaurant. I was hungry for a fish fry. My husband likes all you can eat, which are limited in late, late fall. We drove about 25 miles to Clearwater American Legion. Impressed by the sides. Soup or salad, choice of potato, green beans and cornmeal bread. We both had hashbrowns, and they were scrumptious. The fish were tasty and large. The only thing we feel is too much heavy breading. This is like the happening place. It was BINGO night and the joint was filling out. Being close to the Petro, makes this place easy to walk to, so if you are an American Legion member elsewhere, this is the place to stop.

I got some lite fare because I wanted to end my night eating something sweet from the Petro restaurant.
